Lego Batman's villain-packed trailer looks promising
Holy (adjective) (noun), Batman! Our second bit of Lego related news for the evening (this time, about a real game) comes in the form of this fantastic new trailer for Lego Batman: The Video Game. We're positive that fans of The Dark Knight can find something to get excited about in this video, whether it be the inclusion of fan-favorite villainess Harley Quinn, the hint of a Catwoman romance subplot, or the chance to see some sweet Lego Joker ass. If, you know, that's your thing.

They are doing a really good job with these Lego games.
fischju @ Mar 1st 2008 8:48PM
I accidentally watched the end of Gametrailers on Spike last night, saw this, and fell asleep like this: 0_o
KeenCommander @ Mar 1st 2008 9:15PM
Looks awesome! As long as they keep the gameplay interesting, it should be great.
Cabcru @ Mar 1st 2008 9:24PM
I think I must be alone in this feeling of seeing it all before with the Lego SW games. I realise there's not a great deal you could probably do to expand on the basic premis but beating on endless minifigs and collecting billions of plastic dodads '...but with a Batman theme instead of a SW one!' just feels a bit meh.
ill trooper @ Mar 1st 2008 11:37PM
You are not alone - I had a sinking feeling as I realized it's likely going to be the same game as Lego Star Wars, but transposed onto Batman. I don't know what I thought I was expecting, but I guess I hadn't thought about it until I saw what was happening in this trailer.
The upside to this is that it will likely be a quality game, with a good sense of humor. But I don't know if I'm interested myself.
joshua.kenney @ Mar 2nd 2008 11:20AM
I too am a little disappointed in that it does look like a reskinning...but I'm strangely okay with that. Perhaps I'm a consumer whore, but there is something very, very satisfying about the Lego SW formula, and I was very sad to get to the end of both games. I imagine there will be minor improvements to this game, but when you've already got 2 awesome games under your belt, why mess with what worked?
Evan @ Mar 2nd 2008 10:55PM
I too am disappointed by this video. Hopefully Lego Indiana Jones will be better...
samfish @ Mar 1st 2008 9:28PM
This might be the first good Batman game since...Batman Returns on the SNES. I can't wait.
Although the apparent lack of Legp Nightwing makes me sad.
Nicholas Sulikowski @ Mar 1st 2008 9:47PM
Not to mention the lack of Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, the Riddler, and Ra's Al Ghul.
mike @ Mar 1st 2008 10:27PM
I hate batman but I love lego star wars and indy so Ill probably get this one too. Now wheres lego jurassic park, lego terminator and lego back to the future?
copa @ Mar 1st 2008 10:44PM
Patience, dude. They're trying to get Lego There Will Be Blood together for a 2009 release.
ThornedVenom (Patapornographer) @ Mar 1st 2008 10:29PM
That's it, I'm going to start the Harley Quinn Defense Force, who's with me?
Psaakyrn @ Mar 2nd 2008 4:50PM
Technically, Harley Quinn is part of the Joker Defence Force...
copa @ Mar 1st 2008 10:43PM
Who's the green villain?
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Mar 1st 2008 10:46PM
It's the Hulk, silly.
Just kidding, I think that was supposed to be Killer Croc: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_Croc
Markusdragon @ Mar 1st 2008 10:49PM
Killer Croc. Apparantly.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Mar 1st 2008 10:51PM
Killer Croc.
Anni @ Mar 1st 2008 11:23PM
I'm pretty sure that's the Murderous Alligator.
idiot @ Mar 1st 2008 11:23PM
does the sound of Lego bricks assembling turn you on as much as it does me?
Dracard @ Mar 2nd 2008 12:16AM
I want Bane. :(
Batzarro @ Mar 2nd 2008 3:42PM
Agreed: "I will BREAK YOU!"
Jonah Falcon @ Mar 3rd 2008 1:58AM
Who do you think let all the prisoners out of Arkham?
Lard @ Mar 2nd 2008 12:26AM
No Two Face? :(
Oreo @ Mar 2nd 2008 12:50AM
I'm sure Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, the Riddler, and maybe even Nightwing are in the game. There are LEGO versions of each of them, and should be in the game.
Abhinav Kumar @ Mar 2nd 2008 1:07AM
Holy Nerdgasam Batman!
Bob Salmon @ Mar 2nd 2008 4:16PM
The next five years of my life just got planned out
Oreo @ Mar 2nd 2008 7:54PM
Takes you five years to beat a LEGO game?
Seattle Yonkers @ Mar 2nd 2008 2:19AM
I love the litte Lego Penguin and Catwoman. Can't wait for this game.
quickshade @ Mar 2nd 2008 2:24AM
I think this game will be better than lego starwars for one reason. They don't have a story to follow. Which means they have more control over the levels and how the game and story play out.
Demaar @ Mar 2nd 2008 2:44AM
Huh... kinda would have expected there to be more lego, rather than a few bits here and there in a pretty normal setting.
Robobagins @ Mar 2nd 2008 3:37AM
Am I the only one who hoped the classic Adam West Batman music would be in this game?
L @ Mar 2nd 2008 4:37AM
They're really overdoing it with the Lego games aren't they.
grazen @ Mar 2nd 2008 11:31AM
I'm all for it if it (finally) adds four player multiplayer and at some online multiplayer. Otherwise, meh.
ganrob @ Mar 2nd 2008 1:05PM
who is going to play heath ledgers part since he's dead?
Exodus @ Mar 2nd 2008 2:01PM
Wow that was just in bad taste...
matt @ Mar 2nd 2008 6:15PM
if you're going to be "edgy", at least make it funny. FAIL
Batzarro @ Mar 2nd 2008 3:56PM
Your matriarch.

I assume there won't be any voice acting, which means no Mark Hamill as the Joker. Darn.
