New games this week: Army of Two edition

OK, so we were sorely tempted to give the featured game honor to God of War: Chains of Olympus this week, but we've already told you how awesome it is in a metareview, and we featured a PSP game last week, so we're mixing it up with Army of Two. Will it be good? We have absolutely no idea. We hope so, but we just don't know.

Also, the Best Game Title From a Game We'll Never Play award goes to ... wait, what's this? A three-way tie! Our congratulations go out to Petz Bunnyz, Homie Rollerz and, of course, Lets Ride Friends Forever. Way to go you three.

No reviews = no purchase for me, although I love {xbox live} co-op...

I think GOW deserves the headline over this army of two nonsense, that game is probably going to suck like kayne and lynch.

It's THE SHOW for me. I already have enough shooters.

Good point Matt B! The demo was incredible and if they implemented all of the changes that were discussed a few months back The Show is shaping up to be the best baseball game ever. With all of the offseason acquasitions I think you can count me in as using the Detroit Tigers (my marlins traded our 2 best players in Willis and Miggy).

Review embargo? I know alot of games have this but is it just coincidence that the best games don't do this? Instead they let early review hype up their title and those reviews are typically pretty damn good. Holding reviews back only serves to get in alot of sales before people find out your game sucks.

Is everybody forgetting Brawl? Comes out Sunday (in 6 days), and will already be out by the time the next "New Games This Week" post appears.

Gamer.tv reviewed it at the weekend, got a 9/10. I took a chance, it looks too cool to be crap!

I think I heard someone say the same thing about "Final Fantasy, The Spirits Within."

Thats fair I spose but the review I saw was positive and was scored high enough for me to buy it. Gamer.tv tend to be hard markers, wish me luck with it! :)

I never quite understood why individuals will base their game buying solely on whether it received a good score or not? I've played a few games that I really liked, but their scores were not higher than a 6. I look at a game, say "hey..this could be good" and buy it. Then again, if you are short on fundage, that sometimes is an issue.

I never understood why individuals would get personal about matters such as "fundage". I would be the first to admit I don't like to waste money on poor quality games, cash for video games is not really my issue, I just do not support companies that churn out second rate software. Perhaps you like the 6.0 rated games because they turn up in bargain bins/second hand quicker? Answers on a postcard to the usual address kiddos! :)

look at how the cities are really guns on the cover...they jocked saints row.

Gametrailers did their review on Army of Two and they gave it a 9/10 and said its a fantastic game for anyone who loves co op.

For what it's worth it was delayed a few times and maybe they actually got it right.

Actually there are no reviews, unless you want to send me a link to that review because I dont see it. I only see a PRE-view and the posters on GT gave it and average score of 9.4.

Hey, Anno 1701 is finally getting a North American release. Anyone with a DS who wants a good strategy game should check into it - it's a surprisingly good "building" strategy game, much like The Settlers.

It's also the cutest depiction of brutal colonialism and native genocide that I have ever seen.
