How old is everybody in this thread? From all the hate I am going to have to assume everyone is either under 20 or some faux rock snob that only likes that obscure Lithuanian band that their cousin got them a bootleg tape of one time.

This game is going to be AMAZING (pun intended). I can't wait. Aerosmith is THE number ONE American rock band of all time. You will not find another band with the staying power of Aerosmith and the diversity of music they will bring to this game. Blues, rock, metal, pop, - not to mention the classic rock songs. I can't wait.

I predict, Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Jonny Lang, Cheap Trick, and of course Run DMC to make appearances on the album.

This game will sell just fine. I can't wait until Guitar Hero Aerosmith II: The B Sides.

Hahaha YES!

I would be on board with Run DMC in this game. Get both versions of Walk This Way.

This is old news.
However the bands that inspired Aerosmith is interesting, will that mean we'll see some covers?
Most likely we'll see Train Kept A-Rollin' that was already showcased on Rock Band. But the possibility of possibly getting The Beatle's Come Together/Helter Skelter or The Doors Love Me Two Times? Oh man, I hope I finally get to see these two bands on a Guitar Hero.

And for the people who keep crying that Rock Band>Guitar Hero. It really kind of isn't. I mean, sure, Rock Band gets tons of DLC and huge variety of songs while being a fun little party game...but Guitar Hero's main focus is the guitar, while Rock Band is the whole band. Which tends to make Rock Band quite a bore on the Guitar after getting used to the difficulty of Guitar Hero's guitar. Not to say some songs on Rock Band isn't difficult on guitar...the songs overall just aren't up to the level of Guitar Hero.

I'll hold out for the Lil Jon Rap Hero with special guests edition

you then just have to hit the controller at the right time for 'WHAAAAT', 'YEEEAAHAHH' & 'O K' and then sip some crunk in between

Man, I had no idea that Aerosmith was so universally hated. I Rocked The 80's, but I'll be damned if I buy another Guitar Hero game when there's a game called Rock Band on the market. Seriously, how does Activision move any merch when they got Harmonix to compete with?

I have a feeling Harmonix will do something to really piss off Activision when this comes out, same with GHIV. Could be a sale on DLC, a gigantic track pack, possibly consisting of Aerosmith, or just really big songs, who knows. But when EA and MTV have your back, there really is no limit on what you could do. Rock Band has a much higher rep than GH now (see sales figures), so record labels will likely go to them first.

Are you freaking serious? I noticed that little "and their favorite bands" thing when the displays showed up 2 weeks ago.

Nay-sayers: If I were like you, born in 1990 or after, got my rock from the local pop station, MTV, or some anti-establishment, I don't know who I am so I'm gonna listen to something that everybody else hates (yeah, that'll give me identity), then, yes, I would probably dislike Aerosmith, too. As for the 25+ crowd, dislike them if you want, but why the negativity about the game? (see third paragraph)

Most of you who aren't excited about this game probably think of "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" whenever Aerosmith is referenced. Not surprising, since that was their only #1 hit (and wasn't even written by them). Their only other grammy nod was for "Janie's Got A Gun". So, I can see why you're not enthused. Running along your line of thought, though, they should be one of your favorite bands, because they never had the mainstream success (until recently), yet have continually sold records and packed houses for 30+ years.

I cannot stand it when people in the game/music industry somehow decide that the industry was made just for them, and it's somehow a personal abomination when they don't get exactly what they want. You know what? Just don't buy it. It cracks me up when people say, "I hope this game tanks." Are you serious? Do you really feel like you're being personally attacked when they don't make a game exactly to your specifications? It's this same mentality that drives people to want government entitlements and heralds lack of personal responsibility.

Get a Grip (yes). More importantly, get a life.

Thats a huge list. Good information there. I've put together a review at http://www.squidoo.com/guitar-hero-reviews-aerosmith

Any other ideas I can use for this lens would greatly be considered, what do you want to see?

I really wish this is one of those 'expansions' like Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's. I just don't think that they could make a game based off of one band. Too little depth.
