Check your local Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery for HD movies. They are clearancing alot of them out at 2 for $20, or if they arent, there is a BOGO coupon in there little flyer thing. Dont know what the selection will be like though, sale has been going on for a week or so and I imagine they are pretty picked over...

Sadly HD DVD deals are few and far between in Canada.

I was at the Virgin Megastore in Tempe, AZ today and their entire stock of HD-DVD movies is 50% off.

The HD DVD firesales everyone thought we're coming, aren't. At least, not at brick and mortar big box stores in Canada. Waiting on WM, BB, or FS is pointless. They are just sending the stuff back to their distributors and getting reimbursed. You gotta go online.

Seriously, for fellow canucks, check out amazon.COM. They'll ship movies to Canada, no taxes, and no duties or customs if you choose standard shipping. Their shipping rates takes a bite out of a deal somewhat ($8 for the first, $3 for every one after) but the more titles you want/buy, the better the deal.

Is Firefly on HDDVD? If it is I may for out the 40 to 50 bucks for a drive just to watch it again in HD.

RyanSurfer, ask all your friends to file a complaint about your gamertag. Microsoft doesn't even look, after so many complaints they'll force you to change it. :)

I asked a good question a long time ago and you're entertaining questions like "LOL WUTS THAT SONG ON DA ROCK BAND COMMERCIAL"?

I'm now worried that my 360 HD-DVD drive will be the only spare drive I get, since the Toshiba players I want aren't being fire-sale'd either. And B3G2F isn't what I'd call GOOD. These folks have figured out that it's not like Beta tapes where they might last X replays, and that we'd likely rip the HD-DVDs before they or the players had a chance to break on us.

Really lame but expected...

I just found a "reasonably" priced (considering most are $2000+) HD capture card for your PC. It has lag-free input-ouput loop so you can record to a PC while watching on your HDTV. The HDMI only card is $249 and the the anolog component is $349. I haven't tried one yet because I need a PC with a PCI-Express Slot.

Welcome back Richard and the informative, thought-out Ask X3F, goodbye to Dustin and the useless, unfunny Ask X3F.

Thanks for the information guys. I was really hoping for some big fire sale stuff, but it looks like that won't be happening for HD-DVD, at least not yet.
