Japanese PSP brandishes bronze bundle, cradle

Expected to launch on the same day: A ¥4,800 ($46) cradle and charger for the PSP-2000. It's the ideal device for those 1Seg watchers and mediaphiles who would prefer to interact via the included remote whenever the PSP's hooked up to a relatively distant television. The cradle will also be available in bundled form, with a ¥6,500 ($62) package tossing in a D-Terminal AV cable.

I mean no disrespect to the PSP, but that is not a buy-me color. And why do I need a remote for a handheld, when are you going to keep it farther than an arm's reach?
Mills and Boom @ Mar 4th 2008 7:37AM
In all fairness since I got my iPod dock I've been wanting a good PSP one. Its a good way to keep your system charged and a remote is pretty good if you want to play music off it. Which when you have an iPod has no point whatsoever.

Says who? I like the bronze colour. Much better than the red one that was released a while ago.
eldee @ Mar 4th 2008 9:50AM
yeah.. why in gods name would you need a remote control for the freaking PSP? For you to be far enough away for it to be any use, you won't even be able to see the damn thing.
I suppose it could have a niche for people who use their PSP's as UMD players hooked up to TV's, but I'd say that's a stretch of the imagination since there's probably only a handful of people on the planet who actually do that.

NOTE: the PSP plays audio files, among other things.

"U-G-L-Y you ain't got no alibi, you're..." bronze.
FireStiq @ Mar 4th 2008 7:37AM
That's cool for those who haven't gotten a PSP yet, but I bought a brown faceplate for my PSP (which I prefer) and it looks sweet, brown plate black buttons, too bad for me it got scratched barely noticeable but I like my PSP in mint condition, what a waste of dough ;_;
geckoseiya @ Mar 4th 2008 7:51AM
Now you can have it to match your pantyhose!
philosopher @ Mar 4th 2008 7:53AM
i dont know how i feel about this color. i like it but yet i dont
notnato @ Mar 4th 2008 8:13AM
This is a color to match a wardrobe, not to be a cool gamer. expect more changes to gaming along these lines as the hardware companies catch on to what nintendo has taught them. "hardcore gamers" are a tiny, fickle market.
Sam @ Mar 4th 2008 8:33AM
wow...look at that remote.
got enough buttons sony!?
jeez, take a page from apple on that one.
required @ Mar 4th 2008 11:31AM
Apple stepped away from their one button ideals long ago, hell even their mice have a bunch these days.
Sam @ Mar 4th 2008 11:37AM
i'm talking about apple's remote. its cleaner and easier to use? i mean, look at what sony has..50 1/4 inch size buttons. looks awesome....
Mills and Boom @ Mar 4th 2008 2:00PM
Hear hear. I've got 2 remotes for my iMac. a TV remote that came with an EyeTV and the Apple Remote. The TV one has every button you'll ever need, the Apple one hasn't but somehow gets the job done better.

This makes no sense to release a bronze cradle in Japan. I mean the PSP is in second place to the DS. It should be a silver cradle.
Parsnipzilla @ Mar 4th 2008 11:29PM
If you look close, it's black.
Sorry to ruin your rant.
DomoBraden @ Mar 4th 2008 8:55AM
I'm still waiting on a brushed stainless-steel casing... as in actual stainless-steel, not just something that looks similar.
That would be the sex.
CassilineKnight @ Mar 4th 2008 9:05AM
Was my post inappropriate?
Sorry Joystiq...I forget who it is that pays your bills.
Curmeo @ Mar 4th 2008 9:58AM
that bronze PSP looks almost as bad as the brown Zune.
Grendel Pr1me @ Mar 4th 2008 12:18PM
Next thing you know, Sarah Silverman will be f&@king Matte Bronze.
Sorry.
Martez @ Mar 4th 2008 3:19PM
Worst remote ever?
james @ Mar 4th 2008 5:37PM
Julius Caesar called, he wants his PSP back.
Parsnipzilla @ Mar 4th 2008 11:28PM
the remote looks like something that'll get bundled with a data projector...
and gets lost the week after..
AJ @ Mar 4th 2008 11:56PM
I can't believe the lengths to which Ludwig will go for any pun; that bronze/brains joke barely makes sense at all
hvnlysoldr @ Mar 9th 2008 5:11PM
Color me confused.
