Ready at Dawn ready to move away from PSP

Ready at Dawn is currently putting the last touches on its recently "delayed" port of critical darling Okami. Up next for Ready at Dawn is ... well, actually we don't have a clue.

Given the glaring problems with the game I can imagine why to.

What glaring problems??
I was standing in front of the PSPs in the store the other day, ready to rebuy one (sold my phat just before the Lite hit), but then I noticed that the new package doesn't contain a memory card at all, not even a 32meg one (and no remote or anything, they don't even sell those in the EU yet if I'm not mistaken :s).
I was picking one up for Patapon (and some other games and GoW when it's released here), figuring I could save to the 32meg stick and then later buy a 4gig stick online for much cheaper than in the store. I way even ready to pay the 40 euros for the game, up from just 20 dollars.
Man I really wanna play that game though. :(

Oh and to post something related to the news item:
It's really sad to see them leaving PSP development. But then I don't think their games were ideal for the system. They were great games, and they have their place, I just think there should be more "casual" games on it, and by that I mean pick up and play games that are 2D or 2.5D or something, not some 3D powerhouse like Olympus.

5 hours gameplay, horrible controls, linear gameplay, beat-em-up until boss fight.
etcetc.
Sounds again like nothing new brought to the table. Sounds exactly like PS3 games too.

I think the glaring problem is people trying to judge the game like it's on the PS2. People seem to forget that they are playing on a portable that uses a tiny UMD. Is having such a near-console quality experience on a portable worth nothing to people?
Mills and Boom @ Mar 5th 2008 1:38PM
Wow. I made valid points and got voted down.
Shows how retarded you voters can be! No wonder Bush was given another term!
So can anyone tell me there ARE no control or gamelength issues? Thought not.

I imagine they want to code for one of the big dawgs. 360 or PS3 to show off their talent.

Since is too late to say “In b4 teh bashers” let me say that the PSP is a very underrated handheld.
There are at least 30 absolutely brilliant PSP games but it seems no one cares.
Anyhow PSP2 confirmed either that or they are going to be very busy with GOW:3 (OMG it’s a lion, get in the car) Okami and maybe a new Twisted Metal.
SoulBlade @ Mar 4th 2008 7:03PM
I agree with you on the PSP being underrated. The thing is pretty powerful. If you put the custom firmware on it, it's fantastic. Even stock, it's a solid gaming machine.
burgerbat @ Mar 4th 2008 7:25PM
Not to be a hater, but the competition has an even more impressive library with superior hardware to boot. I had a PSP from launch and loved it, till the lake of games dried up and we parted ways...it's strange to me that the PSP was almost obliterated in the handheld market by the demise of the UMD movie format...until the hardware redesign...which is pretty damn neato.
maverick_saturn_626 @ Mar 4th 2008 8:09PM
GOW3, thats why.
Mills and Boom @ Mar 4th 2008 8:43PM
I fullheartedly agree. It's my fave gaming platform but it's just got nothing on it.
Btw it's my fave thanks to PS1 emulation and a couple of good PSP games. I own 6 proper PSP games and I feel full with them.
It's just missing a really killer game. Everything I've played I'd give a B to. We need an A.

Jak 4.
:(
Atleast it'll happen I suppose. Shame it'll be without NDs... awesomeness?
FidliousWong (Oatmeal Defense Force) @ Mar 4th 2008 9:17PM
Ummm, Naughty Dog is working on Jak & Daxter: New Frontier right now....
Jacksons @ Mar 4th 2008 9:45PM
There goes one of the better developers on the PSP. Oh well!
