With the successful wii-vival of Resident Evil 4, not to mention plans to introduce waggle to Resident Evil Zero in Japan, there's little question that Capcom enjoys returning to – and drinking from – the Wii's zombie-infested well. And for good reason, as the company announced that its latest trip down memory lane for the Wii, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, has shipped over a million units the world over since the game's debut last November.
Impressive, for sure, though what's even more staggering is that the series as a whole has sold more than 34.5 million units globally as of February 29. However, the company is not all about survival horror, having recently confirmed plans for some 15 new projects in the works -- though Capcom will likely always have a special place in its heart (and wallet) for the decaying flesh of the undead.

I love that game too bad the Wii zapper only makes things worst.
Quick Time events are impossible with the Wii zapper.

If you look at the diagrams that are the first thing you see when you start the game, you will see that you are not supposed to put the nunchuck in the zapper. You only put the wiimote in and use the nunchuck outside of it.
However the quicktime events are practically impossible even with it out. It never seems to recognize the wiimote shaking. I wish they would have used the Ghost Squad setup instead.

I hope one of Capcom's 15 new games is a RE exclusive to the Wii. I would snatch that bitch up in a heartbeat. RE4 Wii is just perfection.

I'm actually dumbfounded as to why a Capcom has succeeded on Wii. They've done everything the same as the rest of the third-parties except they've put a little effort into their games. Hmm... maybe, just maybe, if you make a game that isn't Ninjabread Man-level quality, it can succeed. And before you start throwing full wine bottles at your computer, know that this is just a crazy thought that is in no way, shape or form true.

It's a pretty good number when you consider the word "Mario" isn't in the title.

Wait a minute, when Microsoft stated that they shipped some millions of consoles, wasn't everyone on their case for saying "oh, that's what they *shipped* but what about what they sold?"
How come no one's mentioned it here? Case of the fanboy goggles?

This is Joystiq: people are fanboys for consoles, not for games.
