That looks awesome. Of course, if it was truly a "gamer's paradise," they would switch out those crappy Guitar Hero 2 controllers with the GH3 ones. That's just my opinion.

Why is the TV so high up?! If you're on the couch playing you'll get a sore neck in minutes :P

What's the point? Why not save the money and stay home on your own couch, with the TV at the proper viewing level?

Actually markhill66, if it were truly a gamer's heaven, they would skip GH2 and 3 altogether and you'd see Rock Band setup instead.

A gamer's paradise would also have Elites in the rooms. But at least the rooms have HDTVs. I'll bring my own 360, thanks.

The rates are comparable to similar hotels in Chicago: hotels these days aren't cheap, hotels in Chicago aren't cheap no matter what, and nicer hotels in Chicago do run $250 and up per night.

What they fail to mention is that no one outside the first 5 people who get to the room will be able to touch the Xbox's for a few hours, because the GH fanboys staying there will camp out on them just like they do in CircuitCity/BestBuy/Walmart/etc..
:)

Yeah, actually, I think they are thinking of getting Rock Band in there. The room was set up before either GHIII or Rock Band came out, but is only officially 'opening' next weekend. Rates are pretty pricey, but its a pretty nice boutique style hotel in downtown Chicago and right next to House of Blues. My girlfriend works there so she was telling me about it. I'll go next week to the opening and let everyone know if the TVs really are that high. haha.

Pretty cool regardless that they would think of providing a room like this to their guests instead of just a gym and a pool that close at 11. :)

My parents have a LCD about that high in their living room... it's not as bad as you'd think.

And at the cost of staying there for one night you can buy an xbox 360 elite.

Insider Info. They have Rock Band 3 setup now. The TV situation seems to have been fixed. There are 6 360's in the room, and they have an exclusive relationship with Microsoft that gives them a content license no other hotel in the world has...all titles are available. There is a "tech butler" that regulates the room, so no camping. He will also bring you a beer.

My friend is one of those butlers. He told me about something very crazy, and i took advantage of it two weekends ago. They set up a special rate for Microsoft people. If you go to their website (www.hotelsaxchicago.com) and try to book a room, use the corporate code "cache08" and you'll get 20% off. When you check in, just say you are somehow connected to Microsoft and they wont even blink. Tell them Bill sent you. :)

Oh and Smeagol...get a life. Some people might enjoy a little gaming between watching a kick ass show at HOB, eating at a Chicago steakhouse and getting laid in a top notch room. At least i did.

Click on the book now button on the site. On the top of the next screen you'll see "corporate rates" and when the prompt for code comes up, enter cache08. the discounted rates should then appear for any rate search.
