Rumor: Xbox 360 to get 50 Euro price cut March 14
That would bring the price of a 360 to € 250 ($380) and the Arcade pack to around €197 ($300). As a basis for comparison, the Wii is available for around € 234 ($356) on Amazon's UK site, while the 40GB PS3 comes in at €370 ($563). While not necessarily a great sign for how the 360's faring across the pond, it's at least good news for our European friends who've still yet to see what the whole Halo 3 craze is about.
We'll let you know if we hear anything more definite.

Funny, isn't it? Not too long ago, we were all poking at Sony for their arrogance about the PlayStation brand.

A Wii goes for 250 iirc. Over here an xbox (450) is more than a PS3 (400) (if you discount the crappy versions).
they realise PS3 has been outselling 360 worldwide consecutively for the last 14 weeks and is right behind their 17.7 million units at 10.5 million units.
this fall PS3 will probably get a $100 price cut and a slimmer redesign. by next year, PS3 will have outsold 360 worldwide.
M$ you did better this round, but it was still not good enough. you are still not a black belt, and Kutaragi already KO'd M$ when he announced plans to develop Cell way back in 2000.
now M$ is trying to play catchup for Xbox 720 by trying to design a Cell-like clone. they have opened up "The Computer Architecture Group" to start their own chip design division. they've even patented a blatant ripoff of the Cell's distributed computing ability, no doubt a feature that will be standard for PS4 and Xbox 720.
Cell is all about cutting game production costs and getting the most bang out of the buck aka most performance out of the hardware architecture. however it will take developers a whole generation of Cell programming experience in order to experience the benefits. you're going to see developers struggle with Xbox 720 similarly to the way they have been struggling with PS3 programming. but PS4 programming will be produce photorealistic graphics and life-like simulations that will be both cost effective for developers and quick to create, thanks to Cell. once the Cell architecture becomes as familiar as the x86 architecture, its game over for M$.

Their euro is so damn strong, its only fair to lower the price.
The only thing MS needs to do is advertise a little more.
Also, MS is having major PR issues with antitrust regulators in EU, which cant be helping their image. "Eeeeyuuu. I dont want to play you, MS. Mommy says you'r baaad."
The relaibility issues and DVD drive killed it's credability a long time ago.
Please no replies from American Xbots who have no idea of the 360's European status..
