Is it too much to ask for more Slayer or Dragonforce?

Apparently so

I would much rather they decrease the price of the other packs than bang out a mediocre free one :/

I thought the title said "Modem Metal" for a minute. Which, incidentally, is an awesome band name.

How does a bunch of eyeliner models ripping off 1988 Metallica riffs qualify as "modern metal?"

Was Opeth just some dream I had?

and none of that stuff is even close to being as heavy as metallica's 80s stuff. Gotta love how "far" music progressed in the last 15 years!

Hopefully Rock Band gets some metal on there soon. Although the fundamental problem with that is, much like Sabotage, the entire singing part would be the "we don't know what the notes are" type thing, due to screaming etc.

And no, hair metal is not allowed. :)

I hate screaming in metal.

Get some prog metal or fantasy metal (like old Nightwish). Much less screaming.

Wow, cool....

and yeah scream metal is crap, I'd rather play rush's worse song than the "best" crap scream metal.

But if they release it I wont be mad because of all the variety. Wish everyone saw it that way.

Modern Metal, ha!

Yay is the return of the elitist metal brigade!

As for the tracks, only Thrice and to a lesser extent Deftones I care about but Avenged Sevenford? Urgh...

I need/want a pack with ISIS, Entombed, Carcass and Quicksand... then I'll be happy.

Being elitist about metal is like being a fast food connoisseur.

I kid, I like metal every now and then. But in a way, I'm kind of not kidding.

Drop Kick Murphys! Its too bad that they only used tracks from their latest album, because there's a lot of really fun songs that would work well for both rockband and guitar hero from blackout and warrior's code amongst others. I hope they get more!

I'm surprised they didn't decide to have a song from Flogging Molly along with Dropkick Murphys. They have similar styles.

Dropkick Murphys free? Awesome.

Those tracks, except for Flannigan's Ball? Not awesome.

Of course, I don't own the game (I went with Rock Band). But it seems being able to buy those songs separately would make packs much more popular.

Avenged Sevenfold: METAL-core (Shittiest of the metalcore bands in the beginning)
Thrice: Melodic Hardcore (But hey, close to metal... rarrr!)

i dont know anyone that buys GH song packs... you pay less for RB songs and you can play it on guitar bass and drums... and sing it lol...

I'll take the free songs, but those songs suck... They have so much more music...

My opinion, RB and GH3 should be bringing actual songs we know... not B-side tracks

Deftones = ya
AS = ya
Thrice = why did they pick that song.

Don't be surprised if Activision/Vivendi decides to keep all of Universal Music's portfolio away from Rock Band.

Yay for free songs, not so much for the overpriced songs that are more expensive than any of their competition ($5.50/3 pack in Rock band, $1.50/song on KR:AI, $1/song on DDR.) Watch Harmonix put out the Nevermind album in March to compete (we just saw our first 6 pack this week)

I'd certainly buy it if it was on rock band. god damn better games.

good to see GH3 is doing DLC i want though. tough shit that it's too late.

as far as i'm concerned metal died when metallia cut their hair and grunge got big, and no i'm not referring to glam or hair metal i'm talkin real metal too.

This stuff today is either shitty toned down mainstream garbage like these ones coming to guitar hero, or screaming incoherent garbage that seems to be all the rage with the internet crowd nowadays.

Makes a 20 year old guy feel 45 :(

Still waiting on those single songs, Activision. I'm not paying 6.25 for one song! Though, this update makes it easy, I don't want any of them. Activision proves once again it has no idea what it's doing.. You can cut and paste a game engine, but you can't cut and paste creativity and direction.

Just need some Pennywise and they'll have my pre-order (I'm UK, alas). Their new album is free (March 23rd) so fingers crossed they'll bring a few (of their older tracks) to Rock Band for nothin'... Oh, this is Guitar Hero. Hmm... I didn't know Guitar Hero was still going!

For the record, my favorite plastic rocking guitar games are GH1, GH2, Rock Band, and GH3

That will be changed if Come Sail Away is DLC on Rockband, however.

I'll go out and buy a 360 and Rock Band the minute it comes out.

Oh, and say what you want about Activision, atleast they care enough to give us Wii owners a version thats on time. The Mono issue wasn't a big deal, as the PS2 is still the king of plastic shredding and gave me something to do.
(Can't play All of This or Cavemen Rejoice on anything else :D)

The only thing that baffles me is out of all Deftones songs, why did they chose Hole in the Earth instead of something way more well known. Like, Change in the House of Flies or Dai The Flu.

Oh well, beggars cant be choosers :D

You aren't really a beggar if you BUY the song, are you?

And complete UGH at Avenged Sevenfold. Can't stand their sound or their singer.

If it was all Deftones, I'd probably buy it, but since I'm paying for 2 songs I don't really want, I'll pass.
