Rachet was very underrated... Everyone focused on Uncharted and seemed to forget about Rachet and plus I believe SMG came out about that time and was one of the best platformers... Nonetheless if you can at least give Rachet a try.

Yeah a couple of good platformers got lost in the shuffle with the advent of Mario Galaxy. Ratchet was one of them, and Crash of the Titans was another.

No, it was hugely ovverated. Every aspect of the game was inferior to the ps2 versions, save the graphics. No online play, shorter campaign, fewer weapons, fewer features and dumbed down weapons. TOD was a cynical REGRESSION of the series.

@Van Faulk: Saying it was overrated is a bit of a stretch, but it was disappointing. The controls were massively different and not very well-tuned, there are tons of collision problems, the "1st person" view is pretty much useless, and the weapons aren't very interesting. The level design and story were very good, though, and I really appreciate any game with top-notch animation and voice acting.

It was a worthy title, but, no, it definitely wasn't the best in the series. Without significant improvements to the engine and controls, a new Ratchet game doesn't make much sense.

Of course, Resistance makes *no* sense to me at all. I hate 1st-person shooters. Maybe Insomniac would consider making new IP for a one-shot downloadable title before moving on to a new retail project?

Ted Price is the man. Sony is rumored to be buying a BIG studio, I sure hope its Insomniac. Sony should hire this guy to oversee SCEWWS to replace Phil. They could just sit back and release an everyother year Ratchet and Resistance but they are going to make yet another NEW IP.

R u listening Shigeru?

NEW.

Insomniac has said they don't want to get bought out... Plus why would Sony need to? Insomniac always will continue making exclusive games on Sony's platforms.

Do the really need to? I mean Insomniac only makes games for Sony anyways. So there would be no point in them buying them out.

Very true Vegeta.

I"m banking on the buyout of Atari. Then all those old Atari games would get released on the PSN like the VC for Nintendo.

Actually, I hope they don't buy Atari.

It's hard not to like Insomniac. They sure put out some great products. I'm always excited for their latest title.

Congrats on Ratchet making a mill. It deserves that much and a lot more.

I find the comments that Insomniac concerned about becoming a Ratchet & Resistance mill to be odd, given that only a bit more than a year ago, they were strictly a Ratchet mill. They increased their lineup 100%, doesn't that count for something?

Insomniac is a great company.

Ratch and Clank Future is my favorite PS3 game. Although I hate challenging action games(DMC4 is killing me now), I still think this game is too easy...hope they improve that next time. Love the graphic, alot.

Cant wait to see what Future can do in HOME. :-)

methinks you haven't given the second playthrough a shot.

Basically R&C works like this....

Anyone can beat it, fewer can do well in challenge mode, and fewer still can get all the skill points.

I sort of dislike the concept of milking franchises, unless you're able to create something fresh by changing gameplay, but I support new creative ideas and concepts.

Ratchet and Clank is good fun. The sense of humour is great too.

I bought a PS3 in a bundle with three games. Ratchet and Clank is awesome. Drake's Fortune is Exquisite. Resistance? That was possibly one of the less engaging and worse games ever. I hope that Resistance 2 at least throws me a challenge and something that resembles story telling.

What was up with the stills and narration? I am a sucker for FMVs and at least they redeem games with average gameplay. I am hoping that Resistance 2 gives Gears of War a run for it's money because I was not impressed by it.

I know own all 3 consoles so no flames here. I just feel like I was let down by Resistance when it had so much potential. That said I do not really play multiplayer online campaigns so maybe it shines there. (Fingers crossed for Resistance 2).

I still don't see how Resistance was a bore for some people. Especially as you get farther in. As in your second and third playthrough where more weapons become available.

Insomniac does good weapons, things that are just a joy to shoot and the most boring weapons in the game are in your first playthrough and from humans.

Killzone will be godly, but with Resistance 2 as its parter, the 360 has no chance

i actually have higher hopes for Resistance 2 than Killzone 2 now. im just afraid that Killzone will turn out to be a pretty game to look at with just average gameplay. while Insomniac has never let me down before (and believe me, i play all their games) so i expect Resistance 2 to be great.

i hope they are both great but im just a little skeptical of Killzone 2 now since we havent heard much about it lately.

Resistance is a lost cause since almost all the FPS fans have 360s! Instead of chasing after XBox FPS fans, Sony and Insomniac should focus on capturing the all other genres that the 360 has failed to capitalize on. Instead of fighting over the same piece of the pie, let the 360 have its slice, because the rest of the pie is available for the taking!

i kinda agree with you but as a PS3 owner, i do like to play a good FPS every once in a while even though i mostly play RPG's, Action/Adventure, Platformers, and Simulation Racers.

there is plenty of pie let though since 360 obviously specializes in the FPS genre.
