Was it meant to be funny because he didn't get her a real diamond?

If you clicked on the link, it takes you to his Xanga site with full pictures with commentary. And he says when she hit the score, he was ready with the ring next to her.

Why do you assume it's not a real diamond? They come in pink too.

Still doesn't beat the guy that proposed to his girl through Tony Hawk Pro Skater a few years back. Built a church level, with a long pipe going around it. Called it the "Will You Marry Me" grind.

Oh, she did say yes.

It'll be a bunch of circular tables scattered in random patterns, and at the bridal table they'll have a gun that fires nerf balls the size of basketballs.

The existing, official PopCap "Valentines Edition" of Bejeweled already has that exact feature built in, right down to the ring and the customizable message. They draw the ring the same way, out of the jewels.

(One has the alternative option of a heart, for those who aren't ready to go all the way.)

Awesome programming work by him but I feel compelled to crap on his parade a bit lest he get credit for the concept, which belongs to someone over at Popcap.
