Navarror is there which is a plus, but Gerstmann is well too jaded to take his reviews seriously.

He's forgotten how to have fun. Or he's eaten all the fun. Either way, you can't spell "fun" with Jeff Gerstmann.

Not sure if it is because the site is in it's early stages, but notice that there is no Wii tab.

Yeah, you have to admit Fernando that WAS a really good burn! : )

Incidentally, I would visit fernandorocker.com

I mean, if you'd visit www.jerk-face.net

Which is real. For the record. I write some stuff. It's not very good.

I can confirm Jerk-face.net is indeed real.

There is a post about an octopus on the first page. He goes into elaborate detail about this octopus. Its size. Its razor-sharp chitinous beak.

There are also floaty shots of the octopus' tentacles.

Jerkface knows his audience: I salute him.

That 30 second intro was hilarious. So predictable, but in that good way! Could have been better if he'd stopped along the way to pet a puppy or sniff some flowers.

I fully intend to follow/support this site based on the kickass team behind it. It's about time! :P

Man, Gerstmann looks really unhealthy. The "Giant Bomb" may end up being his heart when it explodes from his unhealthy eating habits and lifestyle. Seriously, someone close to him needs to drag him to the doctor for a wake up call.

Holy hardcore, Batman! Which of these new "enthusiast" sites will run out of money and crash and burn first? Giant Bomb? Crispy Gamer? I'd love to see the business plan that convinced backers to put money into a site that can't possibly generate enough traffic/revenue.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with a hardcore gaming site, I'm just saying the non-mainstream audience may not be enough to pay the bills...

I don't know about CrispyGamer but GiantBomb will be just fine. At minimum, all the former/current Gamespot subscribers will migrate over there considering Gerstmann was Gamespot.

By the way, has any seen "On The Spot" lately?? Its TERRIBLE.....Watching it makes me incredibly uncomfortable as the new host is definately not "host material".

I haven't seen On The Spot lately; it's been suffering ever since Rich Gallup left... him, Jeff, Ryan & Alex were the only reasons to watch that. I was ok with 2 of the leaving but when Ryan and Alex left I just gave up. The new host, whose name I can't even remember, is really awkward... there's pretty much only Brian left with any sort of personality. The HotSpot seems to be doing ok though, but Arrow Pointing Down destroys it... although Joystiq still has the best podcast.

Gerstmann really needs to go on the Peter Jackson diet and do something about that god awful pasty white look. Anyways, I think it's quite funny that Gerstmann has become somewhat of a celebrity among gamers for really no reason at all. Wow, he got axed from Gamespot allegedly for a negative review of Kane & Lynch and perhaps a whole mess of other corporate political blah blah. Who bloody cares? These are videogame reviewers. I have about as much respect for game reviews as I do movie reviewers, that is none. The fact is, these kind of things happen in the real world all the time. I'm happy Gerstmann didn't cave into corporate demands (about his review of Kane & Lynch) and stuck by his opinions but it seems like everyone is making this out to be some sort of new age conspiracy (Gerstmann-gate, I mean c'mon). Gerstmann's just using his new found popularity and sympathy towards him in his next business venture and everyone and there mom has been stroking his Bah-Kawk for the past few months. Get of his nuts already, he reviews videogames, reading some of these comments it sounds like people think he's a bloody messiah or something.

Flame on!!

The main problem with that is Gerstmann was much more than a reviewer... he was the Editorial Director, he was pretty much responsible for the entire focus of GameSpot's media content... you can see how much the content is suffering without him, especially On The Spot and the HotSpot. Him, Ryan & Alex were the only people there with any personality; to limit his input to simply reviews is to miss the point entirely. I wish him the best of luck with the new site and look forward watching it grow.
