This is not going to be pretty. Midway Games, publisher of a bunch of games consumers didn't buy, proved that by announcing it lost $97.4 million in 2007. This isn't anything new for the publisher, which lost $78 million in 2006 and plans to keep hemorrhaging cash this upcoming quarter.
Despite the bleak forecast, Midway CEO and president, David F. Zucker, is happy with sales of the company's casual titles and the "eager fan base" of Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3. Zucker believes 2008 will be a better year for Midway with a new "casual games portal," reinvigorated franchises and the release of titles like This is Vegas (starring a look-alike of Attack of the Show's Kevin Pereira). With Atari having its serious course correction, does this make Midway our new Atari?

It should have been a lot more. What costs do they have? They dont give support anyway. At least i noticed they completely scrapped Area 51 Blacksite from their support pages a month or so after release. Seeing as it was beta and not complete anyway (but sold for full retail) i cant imagine it costed them all that much.

Epic should have given up on mods for the 360 since Microsoft wasn't open for that, and just release the game with the default maps; we would have bought it anyway, but now it's too late, I'm too busy with other games and GOWII is coming ...

Poor Midway. Lets see how long they can go before they rehash a new MK tale that takes place before the first one and in between the last one...

Midway owns the Atari arcade division and properties (Atari Games, know for games like Rush 2049, Gauntlet, KLAX, Primal Rage, and pretty much everything since 1984) so this is just more of the Atari "curse" in play.

What they really should do is either Remake Psi-Ops with a better marketing or make the Psi-Ops sequel most fans have been waiting for since the game came out, again with better marketing.
Or Unreal Championship 3....if they still have Epic on the ball for one more game. (3rd Person Unreal Melee FTW)

I wonder how much longer it's going to take them to realize that adding 50% more gratuitous violence to crap games doesn't improve those games...

I personally wouldn't mind if midway came out with another Suffering Title. And how about a Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance / Champions of Norrath style Gauntlet Title? I'd buy that. Hell, I even liked that co-op beat em up version of Mortal Combat that came out not so long ago...Heck if we're going there, what about a slightly tweaked version of Area 51 - Blacksite...that one was so close...it sucked...but just needed some tweaks...

I can't think of any game I ever bought of Midway's. Wonders aloud why any MK hasn't appeared on VC.
