wish I could get excited over spore, or any game on the iPhone. So far any web app I've used has had poor response with the accelerometer. Then again, I have a lemon which is going back this weekend. Blah

There is a huge difference between web apps and real apps. If you have tried any of the "games" that you can get with a jailbroken iPhone/iPod you have less doubt.
I could easily see casual games such as puzzle quest or nintendogs on the platform if (and this is a huge IF) Apple start to support game developers better.

Motion sensing and touch screen functions are definitly where it's at in today's video gaming. Just check the sales figures.

This is the first time I've been excited for a game for my phone. It's a weird, uneasy feeling...

Sometimes I get the feeling like I am the only person in the US who doesn't have an instant orgasm every time an iPhone is mentioned.
It's the same old phone everybody else has with a touch screen and an accelerometer. It ain't worth the money, and certainly ain't worth being tied to AT&T for two years. Not very exciting, in my opinion.

I'm loving my Voyager alot better. The 3G internet kills iPhone's WiFi. And the rumble feeback is pretty neat too.

Yea I'm loving my Voyager too. The games are pretty decent as well, just got Guitar Hero and Assassins Creed both very good. Keeps me entertained while at boring meetings or the DMV, especially the Mobile Tv :)

I think the iphone hype is puzzling for people that don't have one. I've owned and used just about every type of phone UI/OS and none compare. It's less about the phone hardware and more about how good the software is.

stuff falls through the cracks. I think Jostiq does a pretty stellar job covering the spread. Maybe they were busy working on their new Q and A sectoin just for you.

He forgot to mention the other reasons we might remember Electronic Arts.
Not supporting the online play of all their games that are 2 or more years old.
Rehashing the same exact game and changing the year number at the end to pass it off as "new".
Swallowing smaller companies that make great games whole, then taking their licenses and making CRAPPY games with a castrated form of the original development staff (*cough*Westwood*cough*).
