Mega64 goes Jonze for Harmonix game regulars: Freezepop
29
If you've ever played a rhythm game by those musical connoisseurs at Harmonix, you're probably familiar with the idiosyncratic synth-pop stylings of Boston's own Freezepop. From 2001's Frequency ("Science Genius Girl") to last year's iPod smash-hit Phase ("Pop Music is Not a Crime"), their dessert-inspired name has become synonymous with the music/rhythm genre.
We can only imagine that the boys at Mega64 leapt at the opportunity to direct the latest music video for the inimitable Bostonian trio: "Brainpower", one of the unlockable songs featured on Rock Band. As far as we know, this is Mega's first music video (apart from their bastardization of a well-traveled internet classic). What do you think of this epic gaming culture collision? Do Rocco, Derrick and Shawn have the chops to "get their Jonze on"?

It doesn't get much better than double keytar action.
It just doesn't.

I agree. I'm a big Freezepop fan, and they're fun songs in general, but they're not really fun to play.
Get Ready to Rokk is the best, and it's just okay. It was more fun watch the Duke play it in concert on a keytar than trying to play it on a plastic guitar.
Where's the keytar input device for Rockband?

FRE^2ZEPOP 4EVER.
When was this shot? In this video the Duke still doesn't have his AX-7 fixed after the "blood on the keytar" incident in San Francisco.

I can't decide whether the song is the worst part of this video, or if the video itself is the worst part of this video.

That WAS funny, Kyera.
I especially liked the buttons on the remote -- "poison gas" was my fav.
Instead of RB, I wonder how they'd do with the new Guitar Wizard(http://youtube.com/watch?v=VPXL1E4UxZY)!

Saw these guys yesterday (The Middle East downstairs, Boston.) Great show, they're a lot of fun, and it's been cool to watch them grow and mature over time. If they added Frontload to Rock Band I'd need to buy a 360 just for that.

I can't believe there's a Frequency mention but you skipped the fact that they appeared in the (much better) Amplitude as well. (didn't they? I'm almost certain they did). Harmonix = rocking out for much longer than most people think.
