On to Nick, we don't have less patriotism. We are less arrogant. Theres a difference between; " Our country is the best and all others are inferior" and patriotism. Its like the console wars. Anyways, I don't see any immigrants demanding we change society for them. This is a misconception in America brought about by fear. Immigrants don't do that. They are actually hard working, and appreciative. And if you selectively allow in immigrants, they help the economy grow.

We support our troops, just not to the same extreme. Canada is a largely liberal society, while america is largely conservative. Most canadians are blindly anti-war, just like a lot of americans are blindly pro war.

You might think the gun laws suck, but I know for a fact 99.9% of us like it this way.

Guns might mean a lot to many americans, but they don't mean anything to canadians. We prefer our gun laws to yours. The only gun a canadian would ever have to use is a hunting rifle for recreational use. And we can obtain those fairly easy.

Back to T-bag and Omar. The canadian dollar is currently worth more then the american dollar. That was the case for most of 2007. And thats the case now. I hate to use the R word, but thats because of the reccession in the states.

Anyways, this guy needs to take a chill pill. And suggest that the UK create tax breaks for the game industry.

There is NUMBEROUS cases where countries create tax breaks for entertainment industries. The UK, Canada, and the U.S all have tax breaks for films.

Also the states of Georgia, Louisiana, North carolina and probably quite a few others have tax breaks for games. Earlier this month a bill was proposed in michigan, that would bring about a 40% tax reduction for films, television and video game productions.

The European union passed a bill for tax breaks for French video game devs.

I really don't know weither this breaks WT laws, but if it is everyone is break them. Including the UK.

If canada didn't matter in the world stage, the U.S wouldn't be increasing forces in Afghanistan, because the canadian prime minister phoned bush. If canada didn't matter in the world stage, there wouldn't of been a big fuss in hospitals world wide when ONE nuclear reactor in canada was temporarly shut down for safety concerns. I'd still have to disagree with you about the level of patriotism between the US and Canada. When you go to the States, you see patriotism everywhere. Flags everywhere, support out troops stickers everywhere. Being an American is a huge thing to Americans.

In Canada, yes you do see those things, but it's not nealry as numerous. The only time you really see large amounts of patriotism is around Canada day.

I am aware of the arrogance in some, but I did point that out.

And yes our gun laws do suck.

The only people who think it's ok, are those that don't own guns. The safety course is a good thing, and a great idea. The registration is a waste of time and money.

Firearms matter to alot of Canadians, and hunters arn't the only ones who enjoy firearms. There is a large base of target shooters in Canada. Canada is rated 8th in the world for density of firearms. I think the rate is 1 firearm for every 3 people.

I am going through the process of legally obtaining a handgun for tagret shooting, and I can tell you the process is mind boggling. You have to spend over 600 dollars in safety courses and permits before you can even think of purchasing one. A 4-6 month wait when you go start to finish and do everything your supposed to do is typical.

A suggestion to (some of) my fellow Canadians.

Get a sense of humour (not humor).

Also, get a clue. Bitching about how ignorant Americans are will only bait the ignorant ones into a stupid flame war.

And lastly. Who cares what the UK gaming community thinks about our tax breaks? This isn't a big deal.
