Truck Bearing Kibble this week, grinned at PA and was going for Awkward Zombie first.
Korova @ Mar 9th 2008 10:41AM
I have all the TF2 love in the world, but a reference to a visual art classic will get me everytime. Truck Bearing it is.
kyle @ Mar 8th 2008 4:33PM
Err why aren't they included in the voting? That XKCD one was like the funniest thing I've ever read
Ross Miller @ Mar 8th 2008 4:37PM
As appropriate as it may be, I'm not gonna make memories of Gygax a game.
Mr Khan @ Mar 8th 2008 4:39PM
You insult your "Off the Grid" columnist, Ross
;)
t_m @ Mar 9th 2008 8:32AM
Agreed that the above xkcd one was the best... but i get why they excluded them from the voting. Though I doubt he'd mind.
Of the others Awkward Zombie mde me laugh out loud, which hasn't happened for quite a while with a webcomic.
Though I might have liked VG cats as much if i hadn't already read it a while back.
Mr Khan @ Mar 8th 2008 4:37PM
I reaffirm my Kirby loyalty (after voting for the Patapon pun strip in lieu of the 100 Kirby last week) by voting for GamerPALs
I also like PA, DA, and VGCats
XGM @ Mar 8th 2008 4:43PM
Truck Bearing Kibble was great. For those who don't understand the text its french for "This is not a pipe".
Desert Eagle @ Mar 8th 2008 4:45PM
Haha, poor Pyro! Nobody understand what he says, it gave me a good laugh! God, I really, really need to get the Orange Box. Good think I'll go to San Diego by mid-March so I'm finally going to get it!
GamerPALs and 2PStart were pretty good too, and gave me a good laugh.
Desert Eagle @ Mar 8th 2008 4:58PM
*understands. Sorry for the double post...
capt_carl @ Mar 8th 2008 4:48PM
The Penny Arcade comic this week really should be Bordering on the Semi-Tasteful. As much as I shouldn't be laughing at it I was, and very hard at that.

I'm voting VGCats only because I play TF2 a ton and that made me laugh a ton.
Wilhelm @ Mar 8th 2008 4:51PM
Hahahaha, the Pyro Team Fortress 2 one was great.
Almadi @ Mar 8th 2008 4:56PM
Try this comic in the light of the new Mint Green PSP:

Mills and Boom @ Mar 8th 2008 5:05PM
Who was Gary Gygax? old game dev or something
Intentless @ Mar 8th 2008 5:09PM
One of the creators of D&D...
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Mar 8th 2008 5:28PM
Simply put, he was the best game designer of all time who had pioneered the modern RPG (yes, including JRPGs).
Kye Grammar DF @ Mar 8th 2008 5:09PM
After adding all those damned friend codes on the other blog I coulda done with this week's wrapup being decent.
It was "meh" at best.
Mills and Boom @ Mar 8th 2008 5:26PM
Yea, so who was Gary Gygax? an old game designer?
Mills and Boom @ Mar 8th 2008 5:29PM
Whoa nevermind. Must have cache problems page didn't reload with my last post. LOL.
ugg.tryptophan @ Mar 8th 2008 11:23PM
if that was a joke it was in bad taste
Greg @ Mar 8th 2008 5:28PM
Man, awesome lineup this week.
I've gotta give it up for TBK, however. Call me an indie snob, but that joke is damn hilarious.
Jonah Falcon @ Mar 8th 2008 5:29PM
None of the above. I vote for Order of the Stick:

"Roll 3D6 six times for your stats. In order."
Hee hee.
Greg @ Mar 8th 2008 5:29PM
Oh, and I'm definitely going to check out AZ's archives. Great art in there.
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Mar 8th 2008 5:31PM
VG Cats was hilarious, as it tapped that good old feeling you get when you follow one's misadventures.
The Penny Arcade one was perfectly presented.
Truck Bearing Kibble got my vote because it had this really original idea and unique kind of humour I hadn't noticed elsewhere (anyone who can reference Magritte's "Ceci n'est pas une pipe", the original "The Cake is a Lie" joke, is made of win).
And I give a thumb's up to Exploding Dogs for cute simplicity.
Judd @ Mar 8th 2008 5:39PM
I actually like Monday's Penny Arcade comic the best, if not just for it's style.

That was pretty good =)
Tacoman @ Mar 8th 2008 6:00PM
I really liked this one: http://achewood.com/index.php?date=03062008
"Little hole where taco gets in" indeed!
Yourself @ Mar 8th 2008 6:20PM
Could someone explain the "this is not a pipe" joke? I know the painting being referenced but what does it have to do with RTSs?
Evan @ Mar 8th 2008 7:03PM
The original painting has nothing to do with RTS games. The joke is probably an implication that a game might represent something, but not actually be that thing. Maybe its a comment on the games-cause-violence debate.
In any case, it's by FAR the best comic this week, and everyone who doesn't vote for it is a philistine.
Judd @ Mar 8th 2008 10:00PM
For those who don't know the painting that is being referenced: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Treachery_of_Images
Korova @ Mar 9th 2008 10:50AM
I thought it was a very clever reference to how people play games for reasons other than winning. This sometimes frustrates those who are playing to win, but that's life.
It basically says that sometimes, its ok not to use things for their intended purpose. That's how innovation and art comes about.
Los @ Mar 8th 2008 6:55PM
Excellent web strip. Totally rocking. I'm sure Gygax would've loved it.
Poisoned Al @ Mar 8th 2008 8:42PM
I'm gay for TF2, so I had to pick VG cats. However, I've seen better phyro related comics:
