I started out with Dedede (who I really like) then I switched to Metaknight (who we meh IMO). I played with my girlfriend (who has never played a smash game before, so she lost interest because she wasn't used to it at all) and then tried out some challenges and SSE (Subspace Emissary). I even played online, but I was stuck with 1 person and two computers, so it was a little lackluster.

Overall, I'm excited about how much potential there is in the game. I'm reading through the booklet right now to see what I don't know already because I'm sure there are things I'll need to know that I haven't read before. I work from 12-4:15 (yuck!) so I'll just be thinking about playing for 4 hours.

Being from a PAL region, I am currently awaiting my wiifreeloader to arrive, and my copy of the game is going to be picked up for me this week.....so fingers crossed I will be playing by the end of the week.

has anyone had any experience with their wiifreeloader yet? Does the thing actually work as it says it does?

The Freeloader doesn't work. There's even a thread that it's bricked a few Wiis. Check out neogaf or gamefaqs. Some Euros are really mad.

why doesn't it work?
and why would datel release something that doesn't have a purpose.

they've obviously tested it somehow, and they said that if nintendo stops it working with an update, they'll send you a free upgraded version of the wiiloader.

surely it works?

Just put it in my Wii. Can't wait to try it. It feels like Christmas knowing that a lot of people online are experiencing the same joy.

I saw a bunch of people buying our new shipment of Wiis and SSBB this morning when the store opened at 7, but not as many as I would've figured. It's probably because of Daylight Saving Time, though.

First guy I played was Mario... seems slower than Melee. Ike is cool - it's interesting to play w/ a heavier version of Marth/Roy. Pit is pretty cool too.

I'm probably getting it within the hour at gamestop w/ preorder. Too much snow to go get it at midnight. First character may be Pokemon Trainer because I heard he's good. Him and Snake just cause Snake is the shit. I'm probably going to unlock as many characters as I can in SSE. As of now, only control schemes for me are remote and remote+nunchuck. Still waiting for GC controllers to show up from ebay.

I just got my new surround sound copy of Guitar Hero Friday and when I went to put it in my system, I found that my Wii was completely dead. So, I'll be sending it on Monday for a factory repair +$82! I won't be Brawling for a couple weeks thanks to this. :(

It only takes a week to fix a wii so you will, if u send it out fast should have it at the beginning of the next week :) I lucky got my Wii fixed in time due to a graphic cards issue or something with the motherboard nintendo says.

I cant wait to get Brawl from Amazon soon.

Isn't it REALLY ALARMING that TWO new release games are 'bricking' the Wii?

Is Wii as defective as Xbox 360? I'm afraid to buy 'Brawl' for fear of it crippling my Wii.

I'm a little behind. I just got Zack & Wiki yesterday since it was there ans it was cheap. I probably won't be getting Brawl for a while, but I DO intend to get and I have no doubts that it'll be one of the best things I've played in a while (coming from someone who loved every major Nintendo franchise release on Wii so far).

The unlockables are the greatest part. I played with an old favorite, Link, Snake is one of the ones you have to unlock. The Wario level is just like Warioware, you have to play some of the minigames. Pretty cool so far

I'm POed right now. I didn't think my podunk of a town would sell out so quickly, so I didn't reserve. Got to the store five minutes after it opened; they had sold out of their 60 copies in three minutes.

I'll be checking some other stores later today but I don't have much hope. Maybe I will have to what until the next shipment :(

i get an "unable to read disc" error almost immediately after putting in. my system isn't modded, and have never had this problem otherwise.

apparently nintendo knew about this error before hand with japanese version. you have to ship your system out to be cleaned. this is a joke. this is xbox ridiculous.
i don't want to give up my system for 4-6 weeks, not to mention i'm moving soon so i have to wait so i'm sure to get it returned to the proper address. what an utter disappointment.

Blue Laws are remnants of days when religion was still tied to government, and the government imposed upon all businesses save hospitals, gas stations, and drug stores to "Keep holy the Sabbath day"

To force them to do so is rather stupid, IMO

i'm going to the store today. hopefully they'll still have copies of it. the first character i'm going to play with is probably captain olimar (provided he isn't locked from the start) because his unique fighting style really intrigues me.

I'll try the game with Mario, just to feel the differences between Melee and Brawl. Then, I guess, I'll try the new ones, and then I'll go Online >=D
I'm expecting to try the Stage Builder.

I went into town and bought it at 7:30 this morning, promptly spent the next few hours playing with it. Played through about 9% of Subspace Emissary and then messed around with battles.

The unlockable stuff is one of the best parts, I can tell I'll be working on that for quite a while. All in all, it's the great purchase I knew it would be.

wow. it's phenomenal. my only complaint is I still don't have sonic.

I picked it up at midnight and played it almost nonstop until 10am.

I spent Saturday playing what was likely to be the last I'd ever play of Melee with one of my favorite standbys, Peach. Jumped right into Brawl with Peach and won my first online match even.

Of the new characters I really enjoy playing as Snake and Olimar. They don't play as the average character and there's a bit more strategy to their move set, but it works well. They really do feel as if they were transplanted from their respective games.

As for controllers, I made that investment for Melee long ago.

Well, back to it. I have Sonic to nab yet.

I got my copy last night at a Best Buy midnight launch. We froze our butts off but it was still great (and we got free Wii hats & gloves too!)

When we started playing I was using Link, Samus, and Zelda/Shiek. But I've really started liking Zero Suit Samus, so she might be my new fave :D
