So here is another one of those "blame videogames for screwing up our kids" kind of stories. This time, a British tween had the unfortunate run-in with a picture of a crude gamer's buttocks in Burnout Paradise. Apparently, the takedown pics that get swapped every time a player gets knocked out didn't feature the gamer's face, but his unlovable backside -- yes, the dimples were on the other cheeks.
You naughty Paradise players ... what are you guys doing? Seriously though, the kid isn't traumatized or anything like that but the story was picked up by CBS TV which linked the story with online pedophile practices -- something completely out of context with the issue at hand. The point here folks, don't go doing something so brash; your actions may be interpreted and misunderstood by others so much so that it may land you in trouble. Just keep it fun and clean. While this story would probably make parents more cautious about gaming, it isn't as bad as another recent controversy.

lol awesome, i remember a mate of mine playing, he used to put up porn infront of the camera... the player on the receiving end made huge noise on their mic lol

I thought the whole point of that snapshot thing was so that players could flip me off when I get a takedown.

The news needs to realize that the kid got pwned and theres nothing he can do about it. He's lucky he didn't get brained.

ROFL!
Don't forget though, pwned is now trademarked. I think...

How is this story not as bad as the xbox live story. In order to moon someone, you have to be nude. Nude is nude.

Wow, the difference between the xbox fanboy comments and ps3 fanboy comments is huge. On the xbox side of things, you have everyone accusing the parents and trying to deflect blame off microsoft (whose fault that was not). And on the ps3 side you have everyone playing it down as its moral for that to happen. Its just funny, thats all.

Well it's not immoral.. they do warn you about it everytime you try to go online.
It's a problem, technology is getting better and cheaper and people that don't understand it get their hands on it. Parents need to understand what could *possibly* happen if their child plays an online game with camera support. If you don't want to take that risk, don't allow it.

Imagine if he had been shown some random guy's dick, what media uproar that would have caused. It's an interesting insight into what it takes to get people to play your game without wearing pants.

I'm sure there's been worse. Glad I don't own an X360 with all the immature kiddies on that thang. Anywho, another win for singleplayer games: No annoying bishes!

Lol, this happened to me once in the demo. Except the guy pulled his pants down a little too far and bent over a little too far. It was not a pretty sight.
(The camera showed his balls.)
