Still, we'd best give them a chance to finish shooting in Morocco this June, which Variety notes will have a positive effect on the North African film business. Scenes for the Jeffrey Nachmanoff- and Jordan Mechner-written project will also be filmed at the UK's Pinewood Shepperton studios. Cross your fingers and hope for something more than a literal explosion of bullet-time sword fights, churlish chariot chases and liberal lingering on Farah's faucets.

If this movie isn't a flop like the Doom film I'll definitely go see it! I've been a bit iffy about seeing video game films since that.
Also, Egoraptor does a fair bit of voice acting for me, so as a regular reader of Joystiq I always get a bit of a laugh when you make an "Awesome" reference.

It's promising that they're shooting at Pinewood. That's a quality studio in which amongst others both Alien and Aliens were shot. Very nice indeed :)

it could turn out to be a good trilogy. i enjoyed the game storyline a lot. as long as they don't use orlando bloom. deprived of facial or vocal expression he's got to be the laimest actor out there, and ruining a prefectly good fantasy story with the constant presence of such a bad actor would proof not only tasteless but also a stupid investment, for they would have better luck in filling up a movie theater with a good unknown actor then with a world wide famous sh**y actor.
