Besides the above shaky-cam trailer, Blizzplanet has harvested tons of screenshots and information for you to rabidly consume right here. There's also a long video of Zerg gameplay which you can see right after the break. So, what's the word, StarCraft die-hards? Do you approve?
[Thanks, Foetoid]

And I'll play it until I die.

I am DEFINITELY going to get Starcraft II because you're looking at a guy who had been DEPRIVED from real RTS action for YEARS (literally), and only casually played at friends' homes.
And I had never played Starcraft before.
PS: I'm not in the Brawl mania like everyone else because I don't have a Wii. Fernando, you owe me one!

I'm waiting for SC2 so I can start fresh again. :P
Anyway, yea, I'll definately be getting Starcraft II though.
Sorry if you misunderstood my stance: it's my fault for not detailing it properly.
I didn't get to have a gaming PC while growing up, and I didn't really have pocket money (I always had to ask my parents to buy me something when I needed it, as a safeguard) so that kind of meant that games/RTS was out of the question (grew up beta-testing MMOs). I only got to play some when I was at friends', and even then, most of them weren't into RTS.
So yeah, this is my chance to get my uber-micro started. Didn't mean to insult all of the other RTSes.
Really though, this and Spore are really the only 2 PC games I am looking forward to.

That's not a fair comment at all. Saying that means you have no idea who Blizzard is. When has Blizzard ever released a "duct taped" product as you say (though I can't comment on WoW cuz I think it's lame and I don't play)?
This game will be phenomenal as all Blizzard games are -- polished to the max with near perfect balancing. I've been waiting for this game for quite some time.
Now please release Starcraft Ghost.
personally im meh about this game, but thats probably because i never played the first that much and am not that into RTS, but have probably never really given them a fair chance.
hopefully sc2 will be awesome enough for me to learn it.
It'll be good, but it wont have the magic I remember from when the first one came out, or when Diablo came out. Even Diablo 2 was a significant move beyond its predecessor. With this I just don't see it yet.

WTF is the point of playing online if you cheat? Do you cheaters seriously suck so badly you can't win normally?
I had a buddy once who played against 2 cheaters in War2, and almost beat them both, and they still tried to trash talk him. If you're cheating, and you still get your ass kicked, you don't have ANYTHING to say.
But, ya, cheaters are super lame. How do you feel good about yourself after beating someone when you cheated to do it? It's like a virtual sociopath.
Otherwise, I fully agree.

As of lately the devs have gone on record saying the Zerg are quite powerful right now, and balancing them has proven to be a challenge. I can see what they're getting at.
While it's welcoming to finally see the last race in action, this sort of subdued any hopes I had of seeing this game in 2008. Despite Vivendi's CEO claiming it could be out as early as August, I now suspect this'll reach into 2009, possibly Spring.

Now if only they would release all these games on Steam, we'd get rid of the piracy and the PC would be back at centre stage...

I'm certain people will pirate Starcraft 2, but why do that when you can purchase it and get the full dose of community content?
Also is Blizzard going to change the Battlenet screens? I'd much prefer something that would support forums as well as chatrooms. Also all around better custom game lists and easier methods to join friends who join custom matches and the like.

If this happened the PC gamers would endlessly ridicule the ones who played the console version, safe in the knowledge that they'll be able to do things twice as fast. The fact that Blizzard are good with PC specs basically means, well, if you want to play it get a semi-decent computer. Wanting to play it on a console is self-subjugation of the highest degree.
This isn't even including the fact that two different communities for the same game would illustrate the disparities of the Live platform in that context; there wouldn't be the same flood of custom maps, the fragmentation of the community could lead both to suffer in numbers and Blizzard's battle.net is free. Sorry, but i can't comprehend why anyone, calling themselves a fan of the RTS genre, wouldn't play this game on a PC.
Uhm, well I don't think the US is necessarily the core market here, I think it's probably South Korea (judging by where they keep doing their press events). I don't think they want to play it on xbox 360, and I don't think they want to dilute the PC playerbase by releasing on console. Anyway, to address that quote, if money is the reason why a console release is inevitable, why have Blizzard not released WoW on 360 yet? oO Surely the PC platform can't generate high sales...
"GTA IV? I'll wait for the cell phone version instead."
