Today, Aksys Games announced that the anime fighting franchise that is Guilty Gear will be making its way exclusively to the Xbox 360 platform Q3 2008 with the release of Guilty Gear 2: Overture. But remember kids, Overture is not going to be a traditional Guilty Gear game. Overture is what is described as a 3D action game with elements of an RTS as you command an army into battle, so don't go into this looking forward to old school 2D sprite fighting. Aksys did reveal a few specifics, stating that Overture will allow for you to command 50 "servants" into battle and that the game will support Xbox Live multiplayer. Our only question, will die-hard Guilty Gear fanboys support a game that strays so very far from the traditional path?

sounds turdy. I would be greatly disappointed if SFII HD wasn't coming out soon on XBLA... it is coming out soon isn't it?!?!?!

Whoever decided to change the genre of Guilty Gear should be thrown in a stump grinder.

the demo has been on japanese marketplace for about 4 months now.., honestly unless the demo doesnt portray how the full game really is which it looks like it might..., I really kinda disliked it. I read and speak japanese and am a GG head really liked the other games really tried to like this, but i dont plan on pickin it up until it hits the 20 bin.., unless of course they pull something out of they butt with how the actual online and single player is really like in the full release. Sadly though japanese demos give you a better feel of end product definately so dont expect much.~Q

this game is perfect for the xbox community as i didn't see the whole 2d fighting genre doing so well on the original xbox. Not to pigeonhole but from simple observation the xbox demographic enjoys more western-influenced genres like FPS and RTS, hence the the whole reason 360 is still under 1 million units sold in japan.
