Due to a
hiccup in the system last week,
Rock Band Weekly returns for a one week engagement on a Monday. Attempting not to enrage the rock snobs, we'll just say that this week's bands are less-well-known than
many who have come before as DLC offerings. Black Tide is more a classic hard rock band, Paramore brings the female vocals and Serj Tankian is for somewhere around the time you're planning to hit the 2AM drive-thru window.

Was kind of hoping for "Empty Walls" but Serj is just awesome. Hopefully this is a sign that some System of a Down is on the way.

when I went to an A7X concert, Black Tide was a guest band and I didn't even know who they were. They sounded ok though. Later when I went to the mall with my friends we saw the drummer and chatted with him a bit. Awesome

The Black Tide song is awesome. Has a great old Judas Priest vibe to it and it'll be fun to play for those who like the challenge. Lots of quick fills and a nice little solo run there. The Serj song is solid, paramore is ok I guess.

It's good, but I wish they could just go straight for some Judas Priest, or some Mötley Crüe, like 'Live Wire' or 'Kickstart My Heart.'
Or 'Wildside.'
Or 'Girls, Girls, Girls.'
Or 'Dr. Feelgood.'
Basically, any classic 80's/early 90's metal would make this game what everyone dreams it could be.

It not just us. Over at the official Rockband forums it's the hot topic. Seems to be everywhere. I'm sure it'll be resolved in the next 24 hours or will hear from HMX on what the sit-rep is. Might have been a last minute glitch and it was pulled back for repairs or an error on uploading it into XBL servers.... something simple.

I'd like to see more Bad Brains, too. I can't see Pay to Cum getting up there (for obvious reasons), but I'd be happy with any good Bad Brains song.
More punk and hardcore in general would be nice. They have a Ramones song or two, but that's about it. Some Black Flag, Bad Religion and Dead Kennedys, among others, would be nice. Especially Bad Religion.

Yeah...those "black tide" kids actually live like 2 minutes away from me...they're pretty much just a shitty local band that somehow got a contract with a shitty label. Their singer was like 10 years old when they started. I hate the world for this,allowing kids like this to survive is a crime against humanity.

I never heard of the first two bands, but and I really like it. No way that Serj crap is getting downloaded though. Would love to see Almost Easy by A7X for a DLC. Rock Band lovers got the bad end of a deal last time with Grateful Dead songs, while Guitar Hero III received all the love.
