I hope Zerg haven't changed to much, I hope they are the most difficult race to control, but also the most powerful like before.

infact I hope the power levels of the races remain nearly identical to the original.

I thought that terran was hardest, what with the insane level of micro necessary to play them. I mean, only those s. korean freaks of nature could take it to the next level, and start beating everyone else with 1337 terran tech.

Terrans easily had the hardest micro. 10 minutes in you could have 3 cc's and tanks with mines knockin on your front door.

These replies are why I love Starcraft, every person plays differently, and different races can be stronger for them.

I find the Terrans be be the easiest, get some marines and some tanks, a scv and you can take out many armies, or use a fleet of science vessals and irradiate the enemies gatherers, goliaths can take out most airborne troops, battlecruisers are super tough.

Protoss' troops are just freaking tough, with the shields and high hp, high attack high costs, you can take a group of zealots and kill armies of troops. photon cannons can shoot air, ground and detect cloaked troops

Zerg are weak in general, but if you play them right you can destroy any army in the game, if you use a couple defilers to use their cloud and plague, eat a few zerglings and plague some more troops, you have no air support, and your transport ship is your lifeline, lose to many overloads and you can no longer build troops.

While StarCraft 2 looks amazing, even in low quality videos I just wish for this gen there was much more interactivity between the units as they fight.

It would be cool to see some Zerg claws nailing marines and throwing them around while they bleed all over. Its not the gore I am looking the most, rather than the interactivity. Right now its just a bunch of attributes repeating the same animation.

I love SC2 either way.

That'd make the game difficult to play, though, as, with all the different animations, controlling your units and visually identifying them would be harder.

They can hardly get AI to do that work that well with half a dozen NPC's in an FPS. Attempting that with 50 units at once would be a total cluster fuck.

Expect that in like, FMV and CGI sequences, not the actual game.

It would be mostly effects, it should not affect the gameplay at all....

Zerg vs Protoss, final scene:

Is that non-attacking large unit who I think she/it is?

That better not be Kerrigan, although the blades on its back seem to suggest so.

Why did they make her look retarded now =(.

That unit you're referring to is the new queen. It's lost the ability to fly, and the responsibility of base management has been relegated to her.

That voice acting was terrible! Hopefully it isn't a sign of things to come int he game..

agreed. Wasn't ALL the voices in blizzard games done by a single guy up until a few years ago?

Is it just me, or does the voice over sound like Jeri Ryan?

The voices in the original Starcraft were fanctastic IMO. Now every single voice (aside from Kerrigan, just) in Starcraft 2 that I've heard makes me cringe.

Especially the new Jim Raynor...

That voice is very likely a placeholder. Glynnis has been confirmed to return as the voice of Kerrigan, and that's certainly not her.

I thought that was her, with bad filters.

Do you happen to have any understanding of why they changed Jim Raynors voice though?

Again, I don't think they changed it, but rather the storyline hasn't been finalized. Much like many of the unit audio is placeholder, they'll finesse the audio and voice overs when the storyline and units are finalized. No sense committing the effort now when the game is in such a volatile state.

Robert Clotworthy is signed on to voice Raynor again, so the final product will likely feel more genuine.

Thank god, I couldn't take the "placeholder" guy seriously in those campaign videos.

They also made the Protoss sound pompous.

I'm going to be honest. I hardly ever played Zerg in StarCraft. Same with Terran. Protoss all the way. Although now it seems like I'm going to be playing Random a hell of a lot more.

2008 please....I can't hold out much longer. Exterminating all life in the galaxy with a hot, post-human, mutated B#*&%! at your side....nothing like it.

ThornedVenom,

That's the beauty of SC, there is not A race that is the best, the best one will be the one that you feel more comfortable with and so you are able to use it to itsfullest and balance they disadvantages with its advantages.

Protoss is my favorite race, I just liked Zealots and Scouts a lot.
Also, in average they have the highest offense. And for the lolz, as a Protoss, you also get the chance to take control of your oponents units...
