i haven't unlocked everyone yet (i still need sonic, toon link, wolf, and jigglypuff) but of the newcomers, i like diddy kong and pit the best. of the old school, luigi and kirby are my favorites (although i didn't start liking kirby until brawl)

I don't know yet...because I haven't received it yet. Apparently, when you pre-order something from Best Buy online, you don't get it on release date...you get it 3 days later. I understand that they receive shipments in a particular manner...blah blah blah.

Overall, its still Kirby, but that's because i'm so familiar with his style. Of the new guys, i've been impressed by Lucas, Zero Suit Samus, and Meta Knight. I haven't experimented with much of the game beyond Subspace Emmissary yet, and WFC still won't let me connect to a random match
IMO, I think they nerfed Link somewhat, I can't use him at all anymore.

I'm really liking Pit so far. I've always been a Pica fan, but Pit is winning me over. Wario is fun, if only for his bike.
I'm having the Random connect problem too. I've been able to play a friend match, but I get error code 80510 or something everytime I try to do a random match. That's really pissing me off.

So far, I suck the least with Pit and Pikachu.

I really wanted it to be Pit, because I love Kid Icarus. Honestly, Pit has ended up my second favorite, but I gotta tip my hat to Link. I love Link. Playing with him in SSE made me crave a new-age zelda 2 style game.

My favorite's still Yoshi, and it doesn't hurt that he's doubled in usefulness since melee. I'm becoming pretty good with Meta Knight, and I still stick with Ness, who got the upgrade treatment like Yoshi. R.O.B. is looking promising though, and I've set out to make him one of my main characters. I fricken love that laser.

I don't own the game yet--waiting on GameFly...
But I've played a few hours on a friend's, and out of the ones he's unlocked, I like Pit and Sonic. I think I like them in that order, but I've been going back and forth, not absolutely set in stone that I like Pit better yet...

As for new school, I found Sonic really hard to use... weak and fast, something i'm not good at.
I love Mr Game & Watch tho. small with heavy hits, and not much of the combo stuff that I suck at.

MetaKnight seems to be really easy to use and has some great moves (maybe too great). I wanted to use Pit because I have a bigger attachment to the character from when I was a kid, but he just doesn't click for me. His moves are slower than I'm used to.
It's still way to early to tell for me though.

Out of the new cast Olimar is my favorite, but I haven't unlocked everyone yet.

For new characters, I'm loving the versatility of the Pokemon Trainer. I am also not ashamed to say I like Dedede as a heavy character; he's like a combination of Kirby and the Ice Climbers.
For older characters, I like Falco.

I'm sorry to say that of the Melee brawlers, only Link appeals to me. However, I love:
Meta Knight, who is the coolest and fastest, plus he can fly, and it's hard to throw him around;
Squirtle, who is super fast and can put serious damage on opponents fast;
Pit, who (again with the fliers, I know) flies. I don't like him nearly as much as Meta Knight, but I like his sword spinning move, and his Up+B move, the blue wings.
Snake, who believe it or not, rocks. Plain and simple. In the short time space of 5 seconds (the time it takes for most people to get from one side of Final Destination to the other), Snake can launch three grenades at you, plant a mine, and shoot a missle at you. IF you even manage to make it to him, he'll send you packing with a superstrong kick. LOVE Snake. Love him.

I'm new to brawl, so everyone is new to me. I started out playing a lot with Ike (mainly because I just finished Fire Embliem about two weeks ago). But last night I discovered Meta Knight and really love his character. He is easy to use and has some awesome attacks. Then, while playing SSE (again last night) I started playing with Diddy Kong, who also seemed pretty good, so I'll try him in some brawls later tonight.

I'm loving Ganondorf (although he mostly a falcon clone, i think) and also Donkey Kong (special + down, baby)
