"Gripe: The 1 to 3-minute demos force you to exit Brawl in order to play them, making it cumbersome to try out the "Masterpieces" back-to-back. Having to re-boot Brawl from the Wii menu after playing each super-short demo hardly seems worth the effort."

What? Iunno where this is coming from... but I never go back to the Wii Menu... it goes back to the menu with the demo's. Como Te What?

I love Brawl, but tripping is retarded.

Yeah, I had Sonic fall flat on his ass 6 times in a row yesterday. He kept tripping whenever I tried to dodge or side smash.

Not a single character in the entire cast (except maybe Wario) is THAT clumsy.

Glee: Snake!

Gripe: The use of SSBB only friend codes. You should only have to use the friend code for your Wii itself instead of having different ones for each freakin' game.

Glee: Incredibly graphic, who ever says the Wii can't have good graphic games should go jump off a bridge.

Glee: The amount of clones: there aren't any REAL clones, just similarities between some of the characters.

Glee: THEY BROUGHT BACK THE BUMPER!!!

Glee: CPU AI - the computers actually pick up more kinds of items as opposed to the computers in melee, who would always make a mad dash to any recovery and pokeball items. Also, they use charged smash attacks now.

Gripe: Random tripping, they should have made it so you only trip on slopes, not on flat ground.

Gripe: I was so used to the high speed of melee, Brawl is going to take some getting used to.

Gripe: The stage editor is meh, they could have done SO much more with it, although choosing the stages' music is cool.

Gripe: CPU AI - Maybe it's just me, but sometimes Lv3's play like Lv7's. Also, Lv9's are a lot easier.

That's the only drawback to co-op play. the free-roaming parts are infinitely more fun with someone else, but bosses just become a calculated risk

Taking on bosses alone is better, I waste the weaker character basically testing their abilities, then come in with my better character to crush them

I don't know what version of Smash Bros Brawl you're playing, but Hyrule Temple is in the game. I just played on it yesterday.

Also, the masterpieces don't make take you back to the Wii menu and make you boot up Brawl again. It takes you right back to the Masterpieces in the Brawl vault when the time runs out.

My biggest gripe so far: Loading times! Not just for the game to start upon first boot, but even when changing modes from within the menu. Menus should be fast and no 5-10 second delay! Grr!

Hyrule Temple is there. But not HYRULE CASTLE from the N64 version. That stage is a classic, yo.

And true dat on the Masterpieces trials. However, if you don't play through them, the only option you're presented with is exiting to the Wii menu. I don't believe there's a way to exit out of a demo early and go right back in Brawl.

But Marths left/right B special is soo great now
Wario is my fav.

Gripe: only two minute matches with random people.

i just love this game. i really do think its probably the GOTY. but i dont want to get into that now...

but i must be the only one who doesnt think its actually slower than melee, its probably just the toned down dodging you're noticing. and i think that they actually did much better on the "clone" aspect this time around so that they really arent clones when true skill comes into play.

The controls definitely feel clunkier. Much clunkier. I no longer feel much precision. In fact, several characters remind me of Mr. G&W in how awkwardly they seem to move.

I'm not overjoyed with the maps, too. The pikmin map is terrible.

I also feel too zoomed out. This is problematic with items, as I have some trouble distinguishing.

However, I only have maybe four hours with the game, if that. I'm sure I'll grow used to it. As of right now, though, it's no Melee.

With the items, it's hard to see the difference of the Franklin Badge, Mine and Screw Attack. Why did they make the SA so tiny?

Glee: There are a lot of characters and a lot of options to choose from in the game.

Gripe: Nearly ALL of these characters can be unlocked via running through SSE ONCE, giving nearly NO motivation to complete ANY of the other modes. This is what made Melee have so much single-player longevity! It takes 2 days or LESS to get every character in the game.

phew... I thought I was the only one who had such connection problems (I haven't been on the internet since Sunday)...

odd thing, I have 2 Brawl friends, one in Japan and one in Iowa, and my one match with Eiji-san was a lot less laggy than the one with Joe... I can't even get into "With Anyone", the one time I did manage to get in, it was so slow I could sip tea between punches

Hated the maze until I figured out how to pull up the map... I've already got all characters and maps, I don't really feel much incentive to go back and complete the 1p modes, and I'm usually such a completionist

but the major gripe: Japan gets Earthbound in their Masterpieces

voice chat would've been nice, but online has to work for that to even matter... otherwise perfect game IMO

Also, Luigi's FS... wtf?!

"Gripe: Far too many characters just feel like near-clones of each other. Pit, Link, Metaknight, Marth, Ike, Fox, Falco, Wolf. We love them all, but so many are just so darn similar."

Pit, Link, Metaknight, Marth, and Ike are nothing like anyone else in the game. The biggest similarities between any of them is Marth and Ike sharing their counter and I think something like one A attack, Pit and Link with a bow, and I guess both Pit and Metaknight have wings(:/).

Fox, Falco, and Wolf are different enough that it doesn't really matter as well.

"Gripe: We're a tad disappointed, however, that our favorite original Smash Bros. stages couldn't make surprise appearances. Where's the love for Dream Land, or Hyrule Castle? At least that horrid Kongo Jungle is nowhere to be found."

I so wanted to see Saffron City back.

What's more, using the basic attack of many characters feels like you left the turbo button on by accident; they kick and punch automatically at such a high rate that we're honestly wondering if it might be a [gasp] glitch.

If Pikachu didn't have this problem he would very likely be my main. As it is I use Peach more than anything because she doesn't have such a crazy turbo A attack.

Glee: The initial excitement of a 2D adventure mode.

Gripes: Playing through SSE on Hard is TOO hard; sometimes you have to sit there and get pummeled for 200% before you can get away and fight back. The small, round items are too hard to see - I can't tell you how many times I've picked up a Franklin badge or round food item thinking it was a motion-sensor bomb (or at least what the motion sensor bomb used to look like). Yoshi blows harder than ever and seems to go into that crappy egg roll move every time I try to move sideways. The new stages are mostly pretty boring, or if not boring gimmicky and - WTF?? - Goombas have health bars, short though are. SSE feels tedious and stressful, the controls just feel chunky and ugly. I feel nowhere as accurate or precise as I did with Melee. And, though I'm sure I'm the only one that cares, I miss the silly bonuses at the end of levels (Mycologist? Switzerland? Speed Demon, anyone?). Getting those was a blast, and it was always fun to see what you got after a good round of SSBM. And while I'm ranting, did the graphics seem just plain sharper on Melee (and no, I'm not talking about turning on/off deflicker).

Glee: New unlockables screen in the vault doesn't leave you completely in the dark when seeking new goodies.

Gripes: Grabs still feel broken (I haven't used them consistently since the original SSB). They have no place on the Z button and I won't use the Wii remote, and they execute too slowly anyway.

Whew, talk about some catharsis.

Glee - Air dodging is nice, you can't control the direction much at all but you keep the rest of your jumps and can dodge multiple times per jump. Kirby was improved! Marth's sword seems shorter to me, maybe not.
The game in general is fun, and I definitely think they balanced out the characters pretty well.

Gripes - When I jump, I can't really press down to come down faster. Some items are way to cheap, especially the smash ball. I am kinda disappointed in Sonic, which sux 'cause of all the anticipation I had for him, and Jigglypuff, my old best character, got super-nerfed. Why Jiggs? really...

Glee: The selection of Music ranging from Classics, Recent titles, and remixed songs from some of our Favorite games.

Gripe: What happened to that one feature in Excite Truck where you can import your own songs via SD card? That would of been an amazing way to enhance the Brawl experience.

Glee: Assist Trophies, they're awesome and full of our favorite characters who didn't make the roster.

Gripe: Is it just me or have Pokeballs been Nerfed? Nerfed to the point where CPUs don't even go for them anymore.

And this last one might only apply to me and some other players:

Glee: Jigglypuff's Rollout attack can end in midair allowing players to recover is they miss the platform.

Gripe: Rest has been Nerfed!
