Hudson bringing 'classic' Bomberman to WiiWare

Hudson VP of Sales and Marketing, John Lee, hosted his own Q&A session on NeoGAF early this morning, dropping a few bombs about the company's digital distribution plans. The big reveal was confirmation of a Bomberman game for WiiWare that'll be "different" (and yet the same) as Bomberman LIVE, as it's based on the series' "classic" gameplay -- yep, just like Bomberman '93. Lee added that Bomberman will likely be "one of the few classic games" that Hudson will develop for WiiWare.

On the horizon for XBLA, Hudson is busy with an often lucrative, yet rarely respected "licensed" game ... um ... and moving quickly on ... "Yes, eventually we'll do something for PSN," Lee writes, "Now that it's doing much better, and looking more impressive each day, we are looking at bringing some franchises over." More Bomberman? Sounds like it.

Port the 16-player (Saturn?) version and make it Online and it'll be a winner.

It was up to 10 players, with two 6-player adapters (capped at 10, even though physically you can plug in 12 controllers).

You would think its that that simple but these guys cant seem to wrap their collective minds around it. Id kill for the genesis version too.

how 'classic' is it? is it online? if it's old school style with lag free online, it will be great! I know I enjoy it now on XBLA.

I'm like 97% positive they said it would be online. I swore I read it at GoNintendo a day or two ago.

It's a favorite for top 10 "Worst games ever" lists, because it committed the same sin that Shadow the Hedgehog did, albiet in a much worse way

Its the only game from this generation to get there, although why the Wii Far Cry isn't, i don't know

Because Wii FarCry is just a wretched piece of horse shit.

Games like Bomberman 360 and Shadow the Hedgehog (although Sonic 06 was worse) are wretched, festering abominations that eat that horse shit off the ground and then go to use a public pool as a toilet and shit out their foulness during kiddy swim lessons.

They need to bring out the N64 version. That was by far the best version yet there has never been another version like it! Why?!

That was the first N64 game I ever played. I remember thinking "smooth textures!" and being very happy. Did so much our PS1 could only dream of.

Le shrug. I'm happy with Bomberman DS (the first one, where you CAN SHOUT TO DETONATE STUFFS). Barrel of laughs that especially at airports.

Please O please HUDSON make a next gen Bloody Roar game, a true update to BR2: the new breed (new game engine, better character story and more bloody combos)because BR3 and 4 sucked a**.

erm... 15 player codes to get one good game going? :o

Hudson is starting to become a favorite developer of mine.
