We Love Golf American release to include online play

Due sometime this year, the Wii golf game is being developed by Camelot Software, long-time cartoon-golf developers. Collectables and other touches add value to the OCD set; the poll results are in, and we'll get Ken and Morgan costumes in this version. But screw those extras, Capcom had us at "Friend Code optional."

This went from a Meh to a buy for me.
McWeen @ Mar 13th 2008 12:14PM
Exactly my thoughts. If it sells really well it also sets a precedent for other games to follow their example.

Now if only Sega could get Camelot Software Planning to make the next Shining game since there hasn't been a good one since the Camelot Shining games.

What did they do to ZACK?! MADNESS!

That screen shot looks like the desert course on Golf Paradise for PS2. (a Land of the Rising Sun launch title) I remember countless hours of fun on my import PS2 with this game. If it is indeed the same developer than the Wii'ers are in for a nice surprise. Online w/o friend codes is a bonus and I will assume that the waggle control will be a part of this game.
Why can I not type in J a p a n e s e?

I am 100% positive on what I said now. After looking at the screen-shot for a bit, this is indeed the SAME course as the one in Paradise Golf. It looks EXACTLY like the launch PS2 game. They must have just ported 1st gen PS2 code to the Wii for this one.
If i come across a Wii, I want to play this game.

Oh, this is by Camelot? Doesn't that basically make this Hot Shots Wii?
D_Average @ Mar 13th 2008 12:06PM
As long as they don't screw up the controls, this could be the best golf game in the history of man. This is one genre where motion controls are a must.
nastysquar3d @ Mar 13th 2008 12:08PM
The Camelot games on the Gamecube were awesome. I'm on this one like flies on shit.
I can't wait.
swarmster @ Mar 13th 2008 12:22PM
I don't think there's ever been a game that required friend codes to play online.
samfish @ Mar 13th 2008 12:33PM
Yeah, you can play without Friend Codes, but you can play specific people without them is the question?
You can play Brawl without Friend Codes, too...
Anyway, they screwed up the controls for this game, so I'm not buying it. Shame, too. I really wanted to like it, but it's too needlessly complicated.
Rocketboy @ Mar 13th 2008 2:26PM
Super Swing better step it up for Season Three, or it looks like We Love Golf will be the new Wii golf champ.

So, no Apollo Justice OR Zack?
I hate American gamers.
Silliness @ Mar 13th 2008 3:26PM
Holy crap their artists are horrible.
Jody Anthony (Good Eats Fanboy) @ Mar 13th 2008 3:33PM
this went from "will buy" to "will buy day one"
Yishai08 @ Mar 14th 2008 2:05AM
I've been looking at this title for some time, I'm really excited for it now.
Batzarro @ Mar 17th 2008 12:00AM
"Ken and Morgan costumes in this version. "Dum-dum DAH!"
