Nice, its pretty cool that you guys get a ton of free stuff now like smash bros brawl, and nyko perfect shot. You still have to write a review, but its still worth it. Do the other bloggers get vc games/ wii games and gear? or just you because you write the reviews? Just wondering, well anyways I'll consider buying one if there is a good fps on wii like time splitters.

Nice...so when companies don't send you free stuff you just don't pay attention to them. I find it hard to believe that an entire staff of "fanboys" doesn't buy a $20 peripheral even just to try it out.

As far as I remember the Zapper costs the same or just about the same as the Perfect Shot.

The problem is we're too busy blogging to buy stuff on our own.

Also, the Zapper sucks. It comes with a free game, but as a peripheral, it's rubbish.

Hmm...maybe I'll get this and then try to play through Resi 4 with only the handgun... Or I'll buy that beastly rifle we saw back at GDC and play through resi with only the shotgun/rifle/tmp... I like the second idea better.

Do you have to use it with on-rails shooters? Does the set-up prevent it from working with other games? I'm thinking of RE4 and Metroid Prime 3.

Also, does the Perfect Shot work with any of the NYKO wireless nunchuk accessories, either the adapter or the replacement? If so, a hella cool combo could be made. That's right, I said hella.

i have a concern....

while ive heard nothing but great praise from this shell, especially compared to the wii zapper... how do you play RE with this?

You need to access the dpad and A button for switching weapons and doing actions. The only way I see how you could accomplish this is by having your second hand on the gun, which at that point would be.. well.. annoying as hell.

can anyone help me in understanding this?

There is a Wii Zapper configuration. If you go to Options, and controller you can use this setup. It took me a while at first to find it too, but once I did it was much better to play with. It lets you switch with C, and changes the action events to movements, and buttons you can actually reach/pull off with the Zapper shell.

Orion said it. No need to slam your hand on top of the shell and hit the A button to grab things. That's now the Z button's job now.

I forgot to ask my question. -_-:

Anyway...

I was wondering where do I get one of these offline. $20 is a little steep considering you don't get a game, but this shell looks awesome. Anyone know which stores carry this thing?

I myself recently got the perfect shot and i've ben quite happy with it. My only complaint is that in umbrella chronicles it doesn't always sense my shake to reload the gun and then a zombie owns my face... that is the only thing the Nintendo zapper does better. Other than that I love it in both Ghost Squad and RE.

House of the Dead rocks with these guns. Every zapper style game should have the calibration option that the game has. RE works pretty good, but HOD2&3 is spot on in the targeting dept.

Yeah, I thought Ghost Squad's calibration was better than Zelda's, haven't tried RE yet, so it doesn't surprise me Sega's newest "light gun" Wii title has similarly good options. Sega has been doing these Rail Shooter games for a few years now, after all ;)

It works pretty good in Red Steel too. My accuracy went up, and the 'sideways' action is cool.

I bought 2 Nyko Perfect Shots after seeing that I did not like the Zapper very much. I already beat Umbrella Chronicles by the time i received the Perfect Shots, so I did not play around with them to much. The only thing I did not like is that I could not get past needing to use the A button and the D pad. Kazuya said there is an option so I will have to go check on that later. Well see about that now that Brawl is out Ill prob never pick up another Wii game again. :P

I have two Wii Zappers and two Perfect Shots. I personally prefer the Zapper in most cases because I have short fingers. I do use the Perfect Shot for RE:UC since it makes more sense than using the Zapper with the nunchuck out of the shell (which is the way you are supposed to use it in that game).

My complaints with the Perfect Shot are that, as you mentioned, it's hard to get it out of the shell without feeling like you will break something (I never take mine out unless changing batteries to reduce the chances of breaking anything). Also, the trigger on one of my Perfect Shots squeaks like crazy!

I got it at gamestop.com when they had some in stock. They tend to run out of stock pretty quick. I jumped on them the first chance I could.
