BioWare: Mass Effect 2 likely a timed Xbox 360 exclusive, PC version confirmed [updated]

There's plenty of wiggle room here, of course, because there's no telling how long a "short period" is. But it's not like we blame them. Heck, if we had a game company, we'd promise Microsoft a "short period" of exclusivity on everything. That way, when we inevitably had to delay the PS3 version to make it work, we'd make some free coin on the deal. Everybody wins! ... Well, we'd win.
Update: Atwood continued to elaborate with Videogamer.com, confirming a PC version, saying "We haven't announced plans for timing on Mass Effect 2, period, so at this point we're not really ready to talk about it, but because we've got a really great PC fan base we think it's really important to deliver the PC experience as quickly as possible."

Why would you own both a PS3 and a 360?
They both have similar games and the graphical detail is minimal at best - at the moment. They both have strengths and weaknesses, but not enough to splurge such an amounts of money on both. It seems like empty consumerism and a real waste of money - without becoming too judgemental.
Anyway, it's clear that Fenix's statement was vague and those who own whatever system have read it in their fanboy way. I hope the PC requirements aren't to heavy, but they probably will be.

We all know that Bioware own the Mass Effect IP so would it not be logically that Microsoft would get a first publishing dips on the sequel/series?
As no publisher would hype a franchise that much knowing that they're seeding profits for someone else. And any first deal that was struck before Bioware was bought would still be in (mass) effect, like the LucasArts deal.
I might be wrong but it makes the most logical sense, at least to me.

Take a long around...everywhere you go people have 360's. Everytime you see a videogame commercial for a game thats mulitplat its shown on the 360. The 360 version is the highlighted/highly focused on version. Most people have 360s.
If thats not mainstream when compared to the ps3 I don't know what is...and I'm leaving the Wii out of this convo since its obviously mainstream and Mass Effect wouldn't even be considered for the Wii (much as I love my Wii).
In short its the sony fanboys who are bitter and angry and liable to shoot someone. Just because their overpriced pos machine is losing out on some of its exclusives to the better system.

Again, Sherlock, it was Sony fanboys who were shreiking at the top of their lungs that 360 owners shouldn't be allowed to have Devil May Cry 4.
They were SO incensed about it, I recall, that some crappy internet petition actually gathered a reasonable amount of signatures.

Good thought to keep in mind. I have only one console and a PC due to disposable income and time: So I picked out the console I liked best. I'd have all three if I could.
