Iron Man trailers are increasingly awesome
If there's one thing that can make us more apprehensive than a movie-based-game, it's a comic book-based-movie-based-game. We've found that the fewer levels of adaptation a product is forced through, the better off it is for it. However, after watching the VGA premiere trailer and the recent "Iron Flight" trailer for Sega's Iron Man, we must admit, it's becoming difficult to maintain this trepidatious front -- the game looks rad. Between the Black Sabbath, the missile suplex, the blue stealth armor, and the halving of not one, but two tanks, we're pretty sure the pleasure centers in our brain just burst. We highly suggest checking out that trailer while we attempt to drive to the nearest emergency neurologist.

Well, it does have rockets, so I guess that's good.
adeel @ Mar 16th 2008 7:57PM
as unimpressive as the first trailer. .. this game will be repetative in the extreme.
Tiptup300 @ Mar 17th 2008 7:25AM
I think it will do the whole gameplay thing amazingly, but the story will probably ruin the entire game making it repetitive. I noticed scenes from the first trailer. So either they had to reuse clips (not good) or its just doing the same thing (also not good). :(
Okane @ Mar 16th 2008 7:58PM
>I< think this games going to suck because its made by Sega. I don't trust in Sega anymore
Curtis the Claw: Brawl Code 1075-0441-3284 @ Mar 16th 2008 9:19PM
I agree...Does anyone here even remember the last good sega game they played? I think mine was Panzer Dragoon Orta or JSRF.
ChooChooCharlie @ Mar 16th 2008 9:51PM
Well, SEGA did make Condemned and Condemned 2. Loved the first one, haven't played the second yet, though.
I'd say they still do make some quality titles. To me it seems that the only time SEGA screws up anymore is if they allow Team Sonic to take the reigns on a project.
Autopsy15 @ Mar 16th 2008 11:36PM
Yeah, Monolith made Condemned, not Sega.
sicsided @ Mar 16th 2008 11:55PM
are we talking published by sega or developed by sega?
I am thinking of picking up Universe at War:Earth Assault.
ChooChooCharlie @ Mar 17th 2008 12:02AM
My bad, I guess SEGA only published the Condemned games.
Curtis the Claw: Brawl Code 1075-0441-3284 @ Mar 17th 2008 1:19AM
True, Universe at War was pretty good.
WiNG @ Mar 17th 2008 7:53AM
CORRECTION:
SEGA makes good games.
SONIC TEAM makes horrible games.
Record set straight.
Mr.ESC @ Mar 17th 2008 12:12PM
So is true.No one cares about the PSP.
CRUSH.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Mar 16th 2008 7:59PM
Looks gorgeous, here's hoping the gameplay is as good as well.
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Mar 16th 2008 8:00PM
Actually, I'm psyched. I hate to admit it, but that looks good to me. Only a simple question though....
IS THAT SERIOUSLY THE SHIELD BASE?!? Please let me take on Shield's headquarters...
*fanboy drooling commences*
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Mar 16th 2008 8:19PM
psh. We all know how it's going to end.
Nick Fury beats the shit out of Tony(with his bare hands), then fucks a boat load of asian whores.
Why?
Cause he's Nick fucking Fury that's why.
Sir Fidlious Wong (Zeon Defense Force) @ Mar 16th 2008 8:52PM
nah, what will happen is what always happens. Shield gets issues and "talks" Tony into helping. Tony somehow does something bad and suddenly drinks himself into oblivion for another two year story arc....
elmersglue @ Mar 16th 2008 8:04PM
a trailer can make anything look good. Transformers comes to mind... You can take snippets of anything in that game and convince someone for a minute and 30 seconds that it'll be really freaking good. Too bad gameplay is gonna suck, i can almost guarantee it.
Sunny @ Mar 16th 2008 8:28PM
Was that Samuel Jackson doing the "T for Teen" in the beginning?
xeleion @ Mar 16th 2008 8:45PM
"Rated 'T' for mothafuckin' teens, mothafucka!"
Kayel @ Mar 17th 2008 4:18AM
Samuel is in the film as Nick Fury. I think this is the only time in history that one character will be played by both Sam Jackson and David Hasselhoff.
Autopsy15 @ Mar 16th 2008 11:44PM
Possibly. Doesn't he play Nick Fury in Iron Man? They may have gotten him to do some voice work for the game.
Tyrus @ Mar 16th 2008 8:30PM
I just want the movie and game to just be multiple-hour long music videos for that song. I somehow doubt that will be the case.
Luka M. @ Mar 16th 2008 8:40PM
Superman looked good too. It actually looked exactly like this back then...
xeleion @ Mar 16th 2008 8:47PM
I think the trailer looks pretty good, but there's a little work that needs to be done of some of the vehicle textures. I'm a huge Iron Man fanboy, so I'll be buying this regardless of the reviews.
Demaar @ Mar 16th 2008 8:48PM
Oh man, without even reading the news post I recognised the song. Sega is SO AWESOME for licensing the song. Here's hoping it's used in the movie!
Curtis the Claw: Brawl Code 1075-0441-3284 @ Mar 16th 2008 9:18PM
Haven't you seen the movie previews? They use the song.
colin @ Mar 17th 2008 3:22AM
i was waiting the entire trailer for the song to break out ... in that aspect, it failed me.
Demaar @ Mar 17th 2008 2:25PM
Nope. I'm not a big movie person. I see maybe one or two a year tops, so I'm never anticipating releases by watching trailers. Games on the other hand...
Dave @ Mar 16th 2008 8:55PM
It's difficult to tell based on the trailer--but it could be good. If things like catching a missile and throwing it back are actually a skill that can be learned and repeated, then that's great. If it's just one part of a linear storyline or a cut-scene, then that blows.
I'm hoping it's like The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for the original XBox.
BobbyBob @ Mar 16th 2008 10:34PM
Yeah, Ultimate Destruction was the first thing I thought of when I saw this trailer.
*sigh* I wasted many a happy hour running into things with a bus shield in that game...
Stu @ Mar 16th 2008 8:57PM
This looks really awesome. And there are exceptions to the rule. The Spider Man 2 and Spider Man 3 games we're fantastic.
Jcarpio @ Mar 16th 2008 9:18PM
Really, Spider-Man 3 (game or movie, your choice) was good? I beg to differ on that one. Spider-Man 2, however, wasn't bad. Except for that mission at the Statue of Liberty. I think I quit the game for a week after my nth time at that mission.
icqpimp @ Mar 17th 2008 7:32PM
The fuck is you smokin'? Part 3 was dogshit, just like the movie.
Jevanzz @ Mar 16th 2008 9:03PM
I am iron man! Na na na na na na IRON MAN!
Deck @ Mar 16th 2008 9:13PM
Well when the model is made by Industrial Light and Magic, it is gonna look good! But that doesn't mean the gameplay will be good :-p
Batzarro @ Mar 16th 2008 11:45PM
Ironman, Ironman
Does whatever an iron can
Press your clothes, anytime
Then drink some Vodka, with gine and limes
Look out! Here comes the Ironman!
Ace b @ Mar 17th 2008 1:04AM
Lol.nice.
p.s. Gin is spelled Gin.just thought i'd throw that out there
Autopsy15 @ Mar 16th 2008 11:48PM
Sorry, but no one here would be selfless enough to actually HELP someone other than themselves. Maybe the Barbie Horse Adventure forums will be more compassionate.
ChooChooCharlie @ Mar 17th 2008 12:05AM
See, people might help him if he wasn't actually just a bot. Look at his post history.

Anwa123 @ Mar 17th 2008 1:49AM
Just though of a few more movie based games, does any of the lotr games come to mind?
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Mar 17th 2008 11:00AM
The first LOTR game sucked.
The first couple of EA LoTR games were actually pretty damn good.
RTS are good from what I hear.
Stay the fuck away from the RPG.
Morien @ Mar 17th 2008 2:26AM
am i the only one hurt by the misspelling of trepidacious?
Kujel @ Mar 17th 2008 3:21AM
This has two major issues I see: 1st I don't think I've ever played a good Sega developed game and 2nd it's a movie based game which basically always suck. Now if fans of the movie or Sega want to play this be my guest, I personally will save my hard earned cash(I really do mean hard earned, I work for one of the shittiest employers in the world) for something I'll enjoy more.
lol @ Mar 17th 2008 11:01AM
You must have missed the 90s.
Kujel @ Mar 17th 2008 12:20PM
Naw I didn't miss the 90's, I had to trudge through that shit for a decade and I'm still scrapping it off my bouts.
mercilessming_2000 @ Mar 17th 2008 9:12AM
Does anybody remember Superman:The Movie game on current gen or think Iron Man mod Grand Theft Auto?
Mr.ESC @ Mar 17th 2008 12:12PM
Funny it reminds me of Fury 3.
Quaddw @ Mar 17th 2008 7:14PM
I don't think I have ever played a movie based game that was actually good.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Mar 16th 2008 8:19PM
Chronicles of Riddick. Go play it. NOW!!!
Chameleon @ Mar 16th 2008 8:20PM
spiderman 2 ....
