yeah yeah talk to the Brawl.

I already bought the limited edition and finally got the 1000gp.I'm glad they didn't make the multiplayer mode necessary to get all the achievements.COD4 multiplayer is better than Haloz but I still like more TF2.

Mile High Club is a BITCH to get right? Yeah I have all 1000gp on it as well and I was happy there were no MP achievements. I cant stand achievement whores on MP games. What's your gamertag Mr Esc? Im hoping for no MP achievements on Gears 2.

The air strikes are fun too bad I never get to kill anyone with them. Air strikes are too easy to avoid.

"Mile High Club is a BITCH to get right?"

First it was very frustrating but after getting gold in most chambers in portal it was quite easy (I don't have Aperture science I can't get gold on the last 2 tests) Chamber 16 in time and chamber 17 least steps are frustrating as hell.

So far I have 10850 gamer points but according to the xbox 360 I could have 19.000 but I don't feel like playing Crackdown again or finishing DMC4 in Ultra hard.

I need 3 achievements of the orange box Aperture Science, with friends like these and Lambda locator.AS is hard as hell and I can’t get with friends like these because for some reason the xbox disconnects every time I try to add or contact anyone so I have to connect 3 times before inviting anyone but most of my friends play either COD4 or Gears and sometimes Halo and Metal Slug and sending request while playing is pretty useless since most of the time everyone leaves or I lost connection with the host and Lambda locator well is just playing Half-life 2 again but I don’t feel like it.

I haven’t touched my Xbox 360 since I got Brawl. I’ll probably play again when I get Sega Superstars Tennis.

Portal is SO effing sweet, I finally rented that sucker last week actually so its pretty fresh in my mind. I love that Apeture Science song at the end when you beat it, lol. I just rented it for that 1 game and it was worth it. I played the flash game a while back and I was like damn I need to rent this game. Haha!

Call of Duty 4 did not win Game of the Year, nor does it deserve it. Bioshock officially won Game of the Year over both Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. The Call of Duty series has never won an official Game of the Year and mainly use it to sell more copies, obviously. I feel sorry for the developers of Bioshock, that game companies stooping to such low standards. Yet, shocking and to be expected from such amateur developers.

I'm going to create a site tomorrow and give my Tetris remake Game of the Year!

Hopefully this will go for $50 or less. COD4 is usually on sale for $40 and the extra maps are $10 (800 points is $10 right? I can never remember).

That had always been my problem with FPS on consoles, it finally ended with CoD2 on 360. CoD4 is a beast...

Sam, no there is not. I understand the concept of getting a deal, but this game is worth $60 easily! One of the best games of 07 and the most popular on XBL. To not buy it because you don't want to spend full price, is being a bit cheap.

FRAG OUT!

"Thanks to all the people who dropped the money and bought the game when it came out. You guys now have the privilege of paying $15 for the map packs!"

"To all you people slow out of the gate please accept this copy of COD4 for $40 and as an added bonus you don't have to pay anything for the new map pack"

Seems slightly unfair to me, i'll still buy the pack though.

Map packs should be free from the get-go, or at the least give the developer the option. They have a poor customer strategy which will cause problems in the long run. If only they could see it's not about making big dollars on every little thing, but instead cutting the consumer a break and selling more games and advertising free upgrades after a game's release.

COD4 is usually $39.99 so it's a good deal even if you are buying now. As has been belabored before, the single player campaign is stellar but way too short (only 5-7 hours). Online makes it worth $40.

But GOTY? I don't think so. There's at least five games I'd put above this in that ranking.

That is very probable.

My neighbors play this game constantly. I'm not exaggerating when I say I hear it in the morning when I leave for work and again when I come home almost every day. Oy! – and they crank their stereo WAY up so the entire apartment building just shakes from the bass.
I can't wait until I finally buy a house hopefully soon.

"Don't have a next-gen console or PC? Get a second job."

What is it with this gaming generation and the constant referral to it's consoles as the "next gen" consoles? They came out almost 2 years ago!! 3 years for 360!

I think its just a means of differing between Wii & the High Def consoles, but right there is a means, they're the HD consoles. When they call Wii Current-gen, and the HD consoles next-gen, the only one they're referring to properly is Wii

So HD is what is considered "next gen"? All the more reason I find it ridiculous. I always considered the input device to be what separates the gaming generations. But hey, I guess that's also in turn why I'm a Nintendo fanboy. Just look at their controllers from gen to gen. Graphics are great, but if i'm playing the same way I played the previous generation, unless it is a GOD SEND of a control scheme, I feel somewhat cheated.

15-20 minutes into any 360 game (don't get to play PS3 as much) I feel like i just took a blast to the past that is 5 years ago because after the graphical "wow" wears off, it all comes down to the controls.

I came into this generation of gaming wishing and hoping every Wii game would come with an alternate control scheme for the Classic Controller. Now I don't even consider hooking it up outside of the fighting genre.

My rant is over.

PISH POSH! Kids these days! I worked 3 jobs at one point in college. Delivered pizza, teaching aid and I sold hot dogs.

Seriously...buy a hot dog cart and sell 'em outside of a hardware store. The amount of money I made doing that was insane. I went out and bought a Gamecube and some games with cash after just one day of working at one point.

The key for me has been working extra during breaks when you don't have school. A couple weeks @60 hours a week over Winter break got me ahead enough on bills to get a 360 and 4 games even after buying gifts for everyone relevant. Spring break last year got me a Wii. Just a few weeks last summer of pulling extra hours got me a PS3.
You can make the money, it's not that difficult. I've had more trouble finding time to game than time to make money to buy the games.

that's why i go to Play N Trade. There's only one in my state but it's worth the drive.cheaper used games.
But im pretty glad i didnt buy the game when it first came out. This is the main reason why i didnt for fear something like this would come out within 6 months of the games life span.

Christ, has paying for maps become the norm now? Give me TF2 any day: extra content that I don't have to pay again for. Boo on console games making this kind of stuff the trend.

Actually, the norm has become releasing maps for a fee initially, and then making them freely available after a time.

I think this is a great compromise. It allows companies to recoup the cost of developing the additional contest, but it doesn't nickel-and-dime players who really don't want to pay more than the $60 retail price.

I agree that what Valve has done has been extraordinary, but their PC games usually have multi-year sales cycles, longer than what you get on the consoles. I suspect that when the TF2 map packs come to the consoles, you will see that fee-for-a-limited-time setup.

If you really like online multiplayer then COD4 is worth the price. If you want it for the single player experience do yourself a favor and rent it so you don't waste $40-60.

The single player campaign is great but it only lasts 3-4 hours and you can burn through it a second time in 2 hours or less. There is no way the game should have been considered GOTY material just because of that alone. I loved playing the game but once I finished it just left a sour taste in my mouth for having spent $60 on such a short game.

IW should have just done a Warhawk and released the game as a multiplayer shooter for $30. If I would have known that the only real value of the game was the online component I never would have bought it.

same here....got CoD4 for xmas though, so a little bit more time passing...but still, is this the new trend? why should I bother buying a popular game if it's going to be "upgraded" (looking at you LostPlanet v1.5) within a year of its' release??

...at least Halo2 never was "upgraded" (although that could be a fault--since the graphics overlay from the previous level affected playability on the next level)...they just released a Multiplayer Map Pack. no GOTY edition.

The single-player is great, but the multiplayer is disappointing. Many times, it amounts to random grenade and airstrike spam. UAVs are much too easy to get, so they pop up all the time. There are also certain weapon imbalances and the fact that you have to grind out your weapons in multiplayer is quite annoying. Save the grinding for MMOs, not FPS.

Decent multiplayer overall, but EXTREMELY overrated.
