Rumor: New tracks with Europe's Rock Band

This weekend's Play.com event may have unveiled the PAL version of Rock Band and some exclusive songs for Euro rockers. ButtonBandits wrote down the list of tracks available (found after the break), which includes songs in French, German and English (not to be confused with Americanish or UKish).

We're currently trying to find out from Harmonix if the Euro tracks are accurate and if they'll be available through DLC in North America. If they aren't released, we're expecting some technical answer about licensing, with a heavy dose of lawyer speak as justification.

I don't see how there could be licensing issues - there's already an Oasis pack for Rock Band, and Hier Kommt Alex is in Guitar Hero 3.

yes it must come to rock band I have loved Die totten housen for many years... My uncle has almost all their albums. He grew up in Germany and only recently came stateside...

I want to get the German RB and have a bunch of buddies over to play the engish version and switch over when they're wasted. Not because I know how to speak German at all but because at that point they hardly speak english..

lol that'd be hilarious. Here's hoping the EU copy isn't region encoded, eh?

What I want to know is, are these tracks extras on the disc, extras as feel DLC or replacing songs on the disc?

Hysteria by Muse is definitely slated for US release as I've asked a Harmonix employee about it who works on the US releases.

most of these songs were listed in the leaked DLC list that someone found in a song pack about a month ago, no real surprises here. The only real surprise I guess is that Hysteria is confirmed to be the Muse song and not Def Leppard.

Europe gets screwed over on everything.

My question - what the hell is the holdup with Rock Band in the EU? There's STILL no UK release date and my patience is wearing thin.

They don't have enough plastic instruments. It's in the some of the articles from this event.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it has to do with localization and securing licensing rights for the new PAL exclusive tracks and DLC.

People on the RB forums are going ape shit about this.

And, I think the EU people should deserve a little piece of cake for their suffering in waiting so long.

But that doesn't mean that this shouldn't hit DLC sometime. Hell, I'd be happy with it coming out first in Europe and a month or two later on DLC here.

Hysteria is a great song, I would buy that in a heartbeat.

Tokio Hotel, Pleymo (yes, it's written like that): BAD. Really, really BAD.
Blur, Oasis, and the German songs: OK.
Les Wampas: meh, could be fun for the singer.
Muse: HELL YEAH.
Indochine: ... OK, this is the French Party Song. The one everybody knows by heart, the one you will sing if you're drunk. This is a TOTAL winner (for the French fans. For the other countries, it's just a lame 80s song, sorry about that).

When I saw Indochine on there, my eyes widened and I gasped, but then felt really disappointed, as Astro Boy was their only good song. Ever.

The real question should be why no "The Final Countdown" by Europe.

Because it's a keyboard song.

Dunno, but it's in PS3 Singstar, and great fun...

The sheer amounts of epic The Final Countdown contains would cause cats to sleep with dogs and PS3s to spontaneously RRoD

Woo songs i don't know! I hope they are good, i'm always down for some fun new (possible?) DLC.

I'm suprised we haven't seen any Arctic Monkey's yet. They're pretty huge in Europe and I'd love to play some of their songs

I would like complete Muse Albums. And Micro Cuts would be the most fun to sing.

I wanna know what if there will be any DLC that's already been released in America when the game launches. My guess would be no because of licensing, but there is some stuff I want so bad.

Coincidentally, I today bought the CD/DVD of the Muse concert at Wembley Stadium I went to. Good times.

"Hier Kommt Alex" is fucking awesome.

I would love to know when Australia is getting this game... I'm sure Yahtzee isnt the only one pitching it at somewhere just after Judgment Day
