Puzzle Quest getting XBLA expansion, fans asked to name it

Puzzle Quest was among our favorite titles released last year over Xbox Live Arcade, with the unlikely mix of casual puzzling and role-playing edging its way into several of our staff's top picks for 2007. Now publisher D3 has announced that the game will soon be getting what it calls a "tremendous amount" of new content by way of an upcoming downloadable expansion. There's just one problem -- it needs a name.

The add-on, which promises a new villain in Antharg, the Lord of Plague, as well as new spells, items, and quests on top of four new hero professions (Bard, Rogue, Ranger and Warlock), is currently being dubbed " Puzzle Quest: 1.5," but that name is hardly appropriate. To this end, D3 is calling for players to submit name suggestions on the official Puzzle Quest website starting today at noon through Friday, March 21. Once a name has been decided, the expansion will be made available this spring over Xbox Live. We're already brainstorming our ideas -- might we suggest Puzzle Quest: The Addictioning?

I don't know if it's the BEST game ever, but damn if it isn't the most addicting game ever... and I used to play WoW.

I'll probably keep my DS copy, but now I'll have to get the 360 arcade version too.

Any idea if it'll raise the level cap? I hit level 50 long before the endgame on the DS, and it kind of killed my desire to continue.

Then again, perhaps it wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't been using the knight's mega-XP-combos-of-doom.

Agreed, they promised a patch in 2007!

I might buy the 360 version now I guess... the lure of Achievements and new content might be too much for me. I'm curious why the area is in the south when it seemed to me there was a lot more unused map area to the west.

Sweet. I only just bought the full game of this yesterday. I can probably incorporate this DLC into my main travels in the game, rather than going back to it.

Why were we not aware that there would even be the possibility of DLC before this?

I don't suppose anyone can tell me why that player is lvl 9, re-fighting the Advanced Combat quest, and yet has a retarded amount of skills with such a little amount of HP? Am I missing something?

That's an old press photo of the 360 version in-progress. It probably either got re-balanced after the shot was taken, or they pulled in some mid-level spells to keep the shot from looking empty.

Electric Boogaloo and Quest for More Money are good names. It puts to shame my suggestion of Puzzle Quest 22 1/2nd: Puzzle Harder.
