Call of Duty 4 patch now available for PS3
In case you missed the post (or haven't talked to your 360-owning, Call of Duty 4-playing friends since last month) the patch includes better sniper rifle and ACOG accuracy, as well as host migration and playlist changes. You can find some more info right here. ... Or hey, why not just go play?
[Thanks, RileyFreeman]

So I'll guess that they do use dedicated servers for COD4...

Ok thanks.... I have heard that it is a great online multiplayer game but I haven't been able to play it... it looks like I should have picked it up on the 360 instead.... Still enjoying Army Of Two on the 360 for now though .... Now I am debating wether or not purchase Vegas.. it got killer reviews in GI this month (Alpha Protocol on the cover btw) but with my recent purchases (SSBB, Army Of Two, Patapon, GOW Olympus, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, MLB 08 The show and The Club) I do not hink I will have any free time for the next 2 months for any new games. BTW I like to splurge when I get my tax return. One possibility is returning my unopened copy of The Club for vegas or GT:Prologue.
I will try some COD 4 multiplayer tonight on the PS3 which I am sure will be an entire new addiction.
You guess wrong buddy WRONG!!!! lol!!
Straight from infintyward forum =)
We do not have dedicated, hosted, no-client servers on PS3 or 360. The PC game comes with a dedicated server executable for people to run if they want to set up a dedicated server, but the console game does not.
We choose the best host from the people in the match lobby, based on a ton of factors including bandwidth and everyone's ping to the host (it's got no relation to who was first in the lobby or anything like that.) Then that host serves as the server for that match. It's not "peer to peer" in the sense that clients don't run their own part of the server and send that gamestate around to each other over the net (which is what I personally think of when I hear "peer to peer".) But it's also not "dedicated" in the sense that most folks think of it.
If it helps, think of it as being similar to a "listen server" in a typical PC MP game, except the game chooses who'll run the server per match based on how good it thinks you'd be as a host.
The 360 and the PS3 are identical in this respect"
vista sp1, ps3 firmware, cod4, etc.

COD4 still rules either way.

From what I've heard, this patch does indeed block the wall hacks & aimbots.
Since it seems the hacks no longer work, I will post my source for all those non-believing turd burglars that can not use Google. http://www.vimeo.com/720034/
