Don't know where you get your info, Fenix.
VGChartz says 2.63m for PS3, 5.2m for 360.

Still no excuse to make 1/3 of the console players wait a month for a patch.

I played through the offline campaign a couple of times but every time I tried to get online over the PSN I could never join a game. It could have been the same issue the Wii was having with SSBB (overload). I am not sure if there are dedicated servers on the PS3 version or if its P2P.

No, there are no Dedicated servers for that game on PS3. I was also experiencing that on the PS3 version but now its just fine.

I'm not sure as I haven't really played this game (not much of a FPS fan...) but there were articles about Infinity Ward having problems with their hosting servers...

So I'll guess that they do use dedicated servers for COD4...

@fenix

Ok thanks.... I have heard that it is a great online multiplayer game but I haven't been able to play it... it looks like I should have picked it up on the 360 instead.... Still enjoying Army Of Two on the 360 for now though .... Now I am debating wether or not purchase Vegas.. it got killer reviews in GI this month (Alpha Protocol on the cover btw) but with my recent purchases (SSBB, Army Of Two, Patapon, GOW Olympus, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, MLB 08 The show and The Club) I do not hink I will have any free time for the next 2 months for any new games. BTW I like to splurge when I get my tax return. One possibility is returning my unopened copy of The Club for vegas or GT:Prologue.

I will try some COD 4 multiplayer tonight on the PS3 which I am sure will be an entire new addiction.

Noshino,

You guess wrong buddy WRONG!!!! lol!!

Straight from infintyward forum =)

We do not have dedicated, hosted, no-client servers on PS3 or 360. The PC game comes with a dedicated server executable for people to run if they want to set up a dedicated server, but the console game does not.

We choose the best host from the people in the match lobby, based on a ton of factors including bandwidth and everyone's ping to the host (it's got no relation to who was first in the lobby or anything like that.) Then that host serves as the server for that match. It's not "peer to peer" in the sense that clients don't run their own part of the server and send that gamestate around to each other over the net (which is what I personally think of when I hear "peer to peer".) But it's also not "dedicated" in the sense that most folks think of it.

If it helps, think of it as being similar to a "listen server" in a typical PC MP game, except the game chooses who'll run the server per match based on how good it thinks you'd be as a host.

The 360 and the PS3 are identical in this respect"

No problemo, at least your not like Kayrazy Ken who is traumatized lol. Anyway it sais they have Global servers for both 360 and PS3 but actual dedicated servers they do not. Which explains the outage when the unexpected PS3 PSN overload.

how about patching the recently released cheats & hacks for COD4 on PSN including wall hacks & aim bots. Not to start a flame war but it appears the 360 version does not have these hacks.

There's no hacks for either console version. You must be thinking of the PC. Consoles don't get hacks like that.

Nice FUD, it's the PC version.

It's understandable why yout are update, since you realised that the first to market is not always the best...

just to clarify, these are hacks are used for online multiplayer, I have not verified if it's actually legit since I do not have a PS3 yet, and no links from me!

GLORIOUS!!! The day has finally come. While I like the sound of a kill cam for the airstrikes and claymores, and the sniper scope fix all I really wanted was a mute button. MY GOD some of these people - they get a mic and say nothing, they play techno/trance really loud, gotta listen to thier mom, wife, girl give a long winded story about whatever, or the absolute scurges of the earth the tards who love the screaching loop known as the "voice of GOD".

Now I am free to use my mic for actual team gameplay - WOOHOO!

Host migration still does not work. Over the weekend on XBL, every time a host left, the game would get kicked back to the lobby.

COD4 still rules either way.

I have no desire to lie about anything.

From what I've heard, this patch does indeed block the wall hacks & aimbots.

Since it seems the hacks no longer work, I will post my source for all those non-believing turd burglars that can not use Google. http://www.vimeo.com/720034/

That is crazy. It's kind of a slap in the face to those xbox live critics out there who say that the nature of Live's strict structure is a negative. Honestly security is a big reason I don't place PC games anymore.
