I really think this is awesome. Way to step up Best Buy!

I mean they have absolutely no obligation to be doing this so.. Its pretty cool for any of those who can benefit.

I'm not sure if I want to return mine. First off, I got it for super sale a month after it came out for 99$, so it wasn't the biggest impact to my wallet in the first place. I don't own any HD DVDs myself (i've just been using Netflix) but I may buy something like Planet Earth, should it's price come down by a lot. On top of it all, I kind of like having a separate DVD unit for my Xbox. My games are the only things going in the console and my DVDs only go in the HD DVD drive. I never feel as though I am "wearing out" my disc drive by using the player. I may just decide to keep it.

@ogvor

You don't have to return it. If you purchased it at Best Buy you will get a $50 gift certificate AND you get to keep your player.

I guess there's no plan to hit 60% or more off on the HD-DVDs then? The $50 to customers who bought players there is IT??...
