Much like how your mom's boyfriend Ralph will never be your "real dad" we're adamant that there's only one Street Fighter movie for us: The awful, awful Jean Claude van Damme vehicle released in 1994. So we have mixed feelings about a new Street Fighter film being put into production, and a slew of new information on the movie isn't making things any clearer.
We already knew that Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li stars Smallville's Kristen Kreuk in the lead role. Joining her is Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog, Neil McDonough as M. Bison, Chris Klein as Charlie Nash and (wait for it) Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas as Vega. The flick will be directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, whose last three films were Doom, Cradle 2 the Grave and Exit Wounds. ... Wow, we think our first paragraph just became officially not ironic. We'll find out what this cracker jack team cooks up in 2009.

DBZ is being filmed (or was already filmed) as we speak. It is a bit controversal by some dbz fans since Goku is played by a white actor while all the other characters (save for Picoloo) is played by asian actors. True, one can argue that Goku is from outer space, so he can be any race, but if that is true, then that means that Superman can have facial feature (can be any race) other than a caucassian person as well. If the latter did happened and Superman was played by a latino or an asian, there will be a giant riot.

Why are they interested in failing TWICE?
That makes no sense whatsoever.

TABOO IS NOT A PRETTY MAN AAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH
And wtf, I think Jean Claude Van Damme would make a MUCH better Bison.
On another note, finding people who can cosplay well and still act shouldn't be that hard. It looks like they're just getting whatever big names they can.

What ruined the first movie? Plot that deviated and pressing for an all-star cast.
Where is this movie headed? Deviant plot and all-star cast (case?)
I need to lay down.
At least they can't Mortal Kombat away from me.

Casting directors are supposed to do a little more than wander around on google.

Doom, Cradle 2 the Grave, and Exit Wounds -- if you have seen either of these three movies you know how terrible this movie will be.

Side Note: Segal would make a better Vega than taboo.

I think Orlando Bloom would make a better vega than Taboo despite the former not being latino in anyway, doesn't know crap about martial arts, and his face isn't long enough. At least he seems popular with the ladies and does look like a chick in a way.

I saw the old one at least 7 or 8 times in the cinema as a kid, but STOP! Especially you, Neil McDonough! The guy is a great actor - his work in Boomtown (best cop show ever) is awesome - but this could ruin his career.
That said, I quite liked Doom.

Took getting to the second page for someone to name-check Boomtown. Joystiq's been letting me down lately. Thanks for pointing out, however, that it was the best cop drama of all time. Well, season one anyway.
All you cats calling out Neil McD: Knock it off! Nothing about this movie has had me ready to drop cash on it, until I heard he's been cast as Bison. Cinema or DTV, I don't care. I WILL watch this.

Street Fighter movie isn't nearly as campy as Super Mario Bros. Movie.
