News on Bully Xbox 360 patch coming tomorrow
MTV Multiplayer has managed to get a statement from Rockstar concerning Bully: Scholarship Edition's missing-in-action patch. While not much, a spokesperson told them that the patch is sitting in the Xbox Live certification queue and that they will have a "broad worldwide announcement" tomorrow. While that announcement could come alongside the patch itself, we're not holding our breath.
It's promising to know the patch is awaiting Xbox Live certification, but that process can take some time to get through. After apologizing for the technical issues reported by some Xbox 360 gamers, Rockstar asserted they would get a patch out "within a week." As of this writing, it has been 12 days (i.e. well over a week) since that statement.

I missed Bully the first time around and I considered buying it when the 360 port was released... but, something about the game doesn't seem right to me... I just can't justify paying $49.99 for it... Not that it isn't good because I don't know... But I would probably pick it up for $29.99 and give it a shot

I thought it was good that they released the game at $10 less than your normal 360 game - it was obviously a port.
After about a week of playing, I beat the game in it's entirety, 1k achievement points and all. Lucky for me, the game only froze about 4-5 times on me, and after the first time, I learned to save a lot more.
Bully is a great game, and if you like Rockstar / GTA games, you'll like Bully.

I would've never kissed those boys.

I still need to pick this one up for my Wii.

It's about time, this game should have never been released with all these problems they already knew about.

I decided to pick it up for 360 last week. Like Marty, it did freeze on me a couple times, but the game certainly isn't unplayable.
So far, I'd say I enjoy it. It is a little easy, but I'm not complaining.

Knowing it was made by Rockstar, I was expecting a harder game... but in the end, I really enjoyed the difficulty of Bully. Instead of having to repeat everything over and over, like I usually have to do in GTA, I just played the game how I felt like, and everything mostly fell into place.

no point for me to download it now i already finished it, and it hasnt frozen on me since last week i have a first gen/version xbox...grrrrrrr

When a patch is put on the "express route" two weeks is generally the minimum. It's much lesser known but a recent issue with a Phantasy Star Universe patch resulted in its delay as well. Sega pushed Microsoft for speed to get it out by the next week as well, as the lack of a title update was delaying a content update, and it still took--you guessed it--two weeks (fourteen days, more accurately).
So, in short, it seems like 13 days is the bare minimum.

Someone tell bill gates to hurry up with the patch or I will bully his kids.
ScottG13 @ Mar 19th 2008 8:50PM
In all honesty, its not that bad. Locked up on me about twice.
Gavin @ Mar 19th 2008 9:25PM
My g/f LOVES this game so we bought it again on the 360 because she was dying to play the extra content. It has locked up on her a few times and for me only twice, but if you save often it isn't that big a deal. The patch will be nice, though. Thank god for patches...
Hoffer @ Mar 19th 2008 10:18PM
I just beat the game today. I had 2 freezes and no other issues. If you're waiting for the patch to play the game, quit waiting.

What about owners that don't fucking have xbox live??? wtf are they supposed to do. My xbox is three months old..... I BOUGHT IT IN DECEMBER... how is that old?? now rockstar says that the bugs are caused by older hardware on xboxes that haven't "red ringed YET!!!! WTF rockstar.. are you telling me that my xbox is going to red ring soon?? This is bullshit. If rockstar dosen't announce a disk replacement plan.... which they should have by now.. I am going back to gamesstop and returning this piece of shit that rockstar calls a game.

You do know that a Silver LIVE membership is free, right?
All that is required to DL stuff like this patch is a Silver account. You only need to set it up. Plus, like others have already stated, the game is still playable.
MarkEightThree @ Mar 20th 2008 12:31AM
Yea, but some people just don't have the means to get their 360 on the net.
I got the game last night and so far it's locked up twice on me, and my 360 was manufactured in January. That pretty much verifies that Houser's comment about 'old 360s' is BS.
Leggo @ Mar 20th 2008 12:44AM
Right, some people don't have the means to get their 360s online... Those people are not the ones complaining about it on joystiq comments, however. ;)

Obligatory eye patch post.
