Though his vision usually outstrips his games' technical prowess, super developer Peter Molyneux is still responsible for some the most unique gaming experiences ever put to code. He's let us soar through the air on an enchanted rug, mow down civilians in a near-future dystopia, and has even let us play god once or twice.
Unfortunately, after having the distinct 'pleasure' of being absorbed by larger studios on two separate occasions, many of his most memorable creations have since been left to the pages of history. Even so, while Molyneux is currently courting players with his canine-friendly Fable 2, he recently told Shacknews that he's open to revisiting his earlier games, particularly Syndicate.
"I really would love to redo a version of Syndicate," he commented, adding that while he has not been given the go ahead to knock the dust off his past achievements, "one day, I'm sure that opportunity is going to come up and I'd love to do it." Of course, he's said this all before, but we continue to hold out hope. In a world filled with one mundane first-person shooter after the next, we could really use another Magic Carpet.

I'd love to see an updated version of Dungeon Keeper. DK2 is one of my all-time favorite games!!

I always thought BC looked good.

Please don't do this to me. As much as I love Syndicate, judging by the quality of every title that Molyneux has had his hand in since Black and White, it just feels like it's a disappointment waiting to happen.

Syndicate... wow, I haven't thought about that game in a while. But it was awesome. I didn't even know Molyneux made that game.

Syndicate is my number 2 game on my "wish they'd remake that game" list. The first is Blade Runner.

Syndicate is truly one of the greatest games of all time. It's hard for me to imagine any modern update of it that wouldn't be too "modern." Though if they just did something like they're doing with Bionic Commando Rearmed, and didn't actually change much of the core gameplay, I'd totally be into that.

I honestly can't think of a single Bullfrog game I *wouldn't* love another of.

Yeah, Bullfrog was the shit back in the day. I remember seeing their logo on the cover of PC Gamer with announcements about their upcoming games (although none came to fruition). It's too bad they're no longer around - we need developers like Bullfrog and LucasArts (back in their adventure days) to show how quality games should get done.

Just looking at that picture made my heart race. We so need another Magic Carpet.
The thing is, even if some other publisher owns the rights to it, anyone could make an updated sequel for it. The game play was very simple and can easily be copied by pretty much any skilled programming team.
Why not?
Same goes for Populous. Very very simple game play than can be built and expanded upon while keeping the core "fun" with very little work.
Why not?
Instead of another Madden, why not make some of these?

Black & White on DS!

Syndicate rocked. It got SO hard towards the end, but I still finished it. Took me a very long time.
Having seen (for a few minutes before uninstalling it) syndicate 2, I'm not sure if a sequel is a great idea.
Maybe as a High Resolution 2d game.
Syndicate DS would rock rather hard.

We were using our video editing powered rig computer to play Morrowind and Black & White 2. Amazing and smooth.
