The
Rock Band music store won't be the only thing added by the forthcoming patch, with several fixes to the game included as well. Harmonix states that the patch fixes "some of the common issues" it's heard about on Rockband.com.
- Fan cap revision -- Increase on number of fans possible before cap. Easy players can travel across Atlantic, Medium players have a wider range of venues and Hard players on the Xbox 360 can unlock "One Million Fans" achievement.
- Increased diversity in Band World Tour song selection.
- Improved phoneme recognition -- Improved detection and scoring for phoneme recognition. Examples are songs like Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld and Blitzkrieg Bop.
- Microphone latency on PS3 improved.
- Xbox 360 band logos now visible through Xbox LIVE -- Parental controls prevented band logos from being visible over Xbox LIVE.
- Faster loading of DLC -- Songs are cached for a one time wait.
The company admits that this does not fix every issue out there and states Harmonix is "listening to all of your requests, and actively want to get these features onto the
Rock Band platform in the future."

whistlepig @ Mar 20th 2008 10:59AM
lol ..not in europe but you have a good point !
Markusdragon @ Mar 20th 2008 11:48AM
Damn, I was going to say that.
Purple Haze @ Mar 20th 2008 3:49PM
Spot fucking on star!
plittle @ Mar 20th 2008 10:08AM
So does the caching thing mean that my songs I had to download on my hard drive on my friends console will be unlocked permanently once verified? That'd be VERY nice.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Mar 20th 2008 10:42AM
um. no.
plittle @ Mar 22nd 2008 5:45PM
ok, so only partially. now the songs appear in the menu and let me select them but the loading screen locks up the game and never goes anywhere.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Mar 20th 2008 10:43AM
The only thing they left out was audio delay in freestyle drum fills. Though that may have been taken care of along with the microphone delay. This should make my wife very happy.
Eric @ Mar 20th 2008 10:45AM
I never noticed a delay before. What version do you have 360 or PS3?
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Mar 20th 2008 11:06AM
360, but its on both. The drum fills have a very slight but noticeable delay from the time your stick hits the pad to the time sound comes out the speakers. There's like a 1000 post long thread on the RB forums about it. Its even worse if you have dolby digital turned on.
The mic delay is supposedly the same issue, which is why I'm wondering if its fixed or not.
Shagittarius @ Mar 20th 2008 11:27AM
I've played on 4 different set ups and never noticed either of the delays your talking about.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Mar 20th 2008 11:37AM
Good for you shaggi, but I and hundreds of others have. The problem is descibed in excruciating detail on the rock band tech support forums.
Mike Jenkins @ Mar 20th 2008 7:29PM
A few hundred people compared to the millions that own the game is nothing, and of course the only people that will say anything about it are the people who think they have a problem so it really seems unbalanced.
whistlepig @ Mar 20th 2008 11:01AM
the ps3 has microphone lag depending on what cables you use for sound

I'm still dreaming of a World Tour mode for single player, but I guess I need Rock Band 2 for that...
Arturis @ Mar 20th 2008 1:01PM
I would love a feature to let me switch around what band members are playing what instruments without having to create a new character per instrument. For example, once you create a guitarist, he is stuck on guitar and can never do vocals unless you create a separate "clone" of that character as a vocalist. Hopefully that gets corrected with Rock Band 2 as well.
AndrewJC @ Mar 20th 2008 2:25PM
I'm bummed that they haven't yet added online Band World Tour. People like myself who live alone can't unlock any of those achievements because we don't have somebody to play with us.
Yes, I know that we could set up a secondary account and sing/play guitar or whatever, but I much prefer playing, say, Hard Drums to playing Easy on both vocals and drums or guitar or whatever. Plus, I've been playing piano for more than 20 years and I STILL have trouble playing and singing at the same time. Makes it really tough to do both for a guy like me.
Thr3e2wenty8 @ Mar 20th 2008 2:46PM
YES!
I just got good enough to sing expert and play Hard Bass and hit hte cap at 600,000 and my chances of going any further were slim to none before this patch. Now I can play again!
Kev @ Mar 20th 2008 5:19PM
I hear ya. I'd written off that achievement as I can only play a bunch of songs on expert guitar (more on bass), but not as many in combo w/ my SO who sings. Sure, we could do the same dozen songs in the "Make-a-Setlist" venues over and over again, but we'd rather put our time into finishing off the other cities. May we all someday rule Moscow!
Am also looking forward to a Live-enabled World Tour. As many ppl as we know whom also have RB, would love to tour w/ them instead of just quickplay.
Mike Jenkins @ Mar 20th 2008 7:32PM
I haven't had a problem like that, I play in a dorm so when we play in World Tour mode we sometimes have our four best players doing well then we have some people who aren't very good playing and they lose a bunch of fans. How do you know when you've hit a cap?
Attackosaur @ Mar 20th 2008 4:16PM
Started off this looked like the coolest goddamn game ever. That was November. This is March. This is me not playing it because I live in Europe.
If this game doesn't come out PERFECT with ALL of the DLC available online then... well... I'll be even more annoyed. If they try to drip feed that shit to us 5 months behind the Americans, or, worse, don't give it to us at all (hello, downloadable TV shows) then they can bugger the hell off. I'll buy myself a small hut and a baseball and entertain myself old school like Steve McQueen. Steve wouldn't stand for this shit.
Mike Jenkins @ Mar 20th 2008 7:30PM
Xbox 360 band logos now visible through Xbox LIVE -- Parental controls prevented band logos from being visible over Xbox LIVE.
Maybe they should block band logos, our band is called the Vagina Pirates (it's an inside joke) so we made out logo look somewhat like a vagina with V P around it. Of course it's all from stuff that was in the game but still, I'm sure people can make worse things, especially since they can spell out whatever they want.
