A better look at Japan's MGS4 steel PS3

Famitsu scans don't do this bundle justice. Get a closer look at the limited edition steel PS3 bundle coming out in Japan. Not only will it include a DualShock 3 controller, it will offer Japanese gamers a limited edition copy of Metal Gear Solid 4. Japanese gamers (and importers) will be able to pick it up on June 12th for ¥51,800 ($520).

I like it except for the writting near the bottom. It makes it look tacky.

I wonder if the plastic will still be semi-transparent. It would also look better it it had the chrome piece, it's just a bit too gray.

I need a break from the chrome trims. I'd take this over the standard one for sure. A flat black would be hot too.

You've got to give it up for Sony. Changing the color of a system isn't something most console makers do right away. They usually do this stuff halfway in to the consoles life cycle.

Changing up the color and creating these special bundles has generated allot of buzz, that would not be there if they were still selling the same old units.

These look nice but I have yet to hear the HD size or if it will be backwards compatable.

Apparently it's a 40GB... no word on BC

The Japanese version will be the 40gb with no BC. As far as I can tell, we're not getting a special color in America. We are getting an 80gb unit with BC, however.

I'd take this over the standard PS3. Anything Metal Gear is usually awesome and Limited editions of consoles usually hold there value better. Mind you what I wouldnt mind is some backwards compatibility for my 40gb PS3
