This Week in Review: A Crystal-laden Vegas Prologue
This week's biggest review also has the longest title: Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate. The masochist in us hope the next title is yet another spinoff, just so we can have yet another subtitle. Imagine: FF:CC:ROF:Falling Orbits.
We also had some hands-on time with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and rounded up all the reviews from Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Check out all of our hands-on impressions and reviews from the Joystiq Network this week:

No. Just...no.

Intelligence proven.
Or rather, nonintelligence proven.

Shows how much you know...
When you fart in full platemail it causes the armor to vibrate and creates a ringing sound.
Clearly this is an adventure about big swords, hair, armor, effeminate male characters, and massive farts.
Andrex (NDF - Host) @ Mar 22nd 2008 12:52AM
Clearly you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Zeus.:God @ Mar 23rd 2008 3:18AM
That is EXACTLY what I saw... I was about to go to Engadget.com (clicking the little button on my browser) and I saw that just as it loaded... I had to go back because I could have SWORN it said farts.

Is Vegas any good?
I did not like the first one that much so I was hesitant to get this one thinking of it as nothing more than an expansion pack.
Is it just more of the same or were improvements actually made this time around?
Curtis the Claw: Brawl Code 1075-0441-3284 @ Mar 22nd 2008 10:52AM
It's more of the same from what I've heard.
Todd @ Mar 22nd 2008 12:31PM
More of the same - but still very good.
Graphics are slightly better, character models more detailed, and a few game functions that make it a smoother experience.
I you didn't like the first one, you won't like this one, but if you did like Vegas 1, you will enjoy Vegas 2 as well.
The game really fills a niche that no other game does right now.
Chyld989 @ Mar 21st 2008 11:38PM
So...why'd you put the title as "Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate" when the boxart clearly says "Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates" =P
Psaakyrn @ Mar 21st 2008 11:58PM
So it being a Final Fantasy is more important than it being a Crystal Chronicles..
Geist @ Mar 22nd 2008 1:13AM
You almost sound surprised. Which has sold more: Final Fantasy titles, or Crystal Chronicles?
Psaakyrn @ Mar 22nd 2008 1:40AM
I was refering to the size of each part of the title, the Crystal Chronocles portion is so small I'd miss it if not told otherwise. :p
Geist @ Mar 22nd 2008 2:22AM
Yeah, but if you saw a giant FINAL FANTASY game on the shelves, or a CRYSTAL CHRONICLES game, which would you be more attracted to? Yeahhh.
mr nimblewick @ Mar 22nd 2008 1:12AM
Man, if FF:CC had internet play, I'd put some serious time into it. Instead, I just won't buy it.

Crap - wrong comment... sorry man. : )

The single player is quite entertaining so far, and the local mutliplayer seems to stack up well as well.

deja vu?
Chilly Willy @ Mar 24th 2008 9:10AM
Man I miss that game. Threads of Fate along with Brave Fencer Musashi. Both gave you the ability to steal your enemies abilities. Those were some good Squaresoft times. Ah, nostalgia.
kandy @ Mar 23rd 2008 12:50PM
Loved the Final Fantasy movies but I never understood the game
