New Crisis Core trailer shows off summons, butt rock
69
Watching this trailer may embed some niggling questions in your mind -- questions like: Is it safe to run on top of trains? Why does Cloud have black hair? Who at Square Enix decided that story-rich fantasy and gut-crunching metal were a good mix? However, this video should eliminate any question in your mind that a spiritual sequel to a 3-disc RPG masterpiece could fit on a UMD. Focusing mostly on summons, a Final Fantasy staple, this trailer has pushed our excitement for Crisis Core far beyond our apprehension towards the game. We just hope the final product has music of a more ... listenable variety.

O yea, and if anyone interested, i'm active in Cheapassgamer, so i got Final Fantasy VII black-label in a trade for Devil May Cry 5th Anniversary Set (which i technically worked for) so TAKE THAT! Also, that reminds me, i never beat it. I'm still on disc one, in the beginning. I got to get moving before this gets released (and yes i played Final Fantasy X, ~50 hours, so i know how long they take).

if you spent 50 hours on FF X then you can expect to spend 150 hrs on FF VII... the chocobo quest alone will take you a dozen hours if you don't have any strat books handy... and even if you do it takes a while.
FF X can be beat in comfortably under 20 hrs (I've done it and I'm not that hard core) but FF VII takes at least 40 hrs from experience. (Ignoring all the side quests except a few good Materia that are needed)

How is that even possible? Honestly, FFX was my first FF, so i guess
i'm not that good, but it's hard as sh*t to beat. Is it just me?
Every boss took *censored* number of times to beat. :(

I guess all the easy part of FFx is in the fact you can grab yourself a capture weapon at the calm lands, and load that weapon with deathstrike or stonestrike and kill just about any random monster in 1 hit until near the end. All the while capturing them and getting the great rewards that go along with it... final boss was a bit of a joke too.
then again it all depends how you level... I leveled Yuna to be a powerhouse using strenth spheres, which carried to her aeons which made Bahamut a real behemoth doing obscene amounts of damage. killing most bosses in 1 hit.
I lucked out the first time I played too... I was in the Omega ruins for fun and ran across the 99 warp spheres... completely by accident only to wonder why something so obscenely powerful was so easy to get.... turns out it was a fluke and I couldn't repeat it on any other play-throughs no matter how hard I tried.

this game only has beautiful graphic, lots of CGs, and a not-bad-FF7-related storyline, the gameplay is just blah.
I played half of the JP ver. and get tired, cut-scenes take up most of the game, and the battle is just click-click-click.

Er....Nobuo Uematsu, 'bout a decade ago, when he wrote the FF7 boss theme. And what a stupid thing for anybody claiming to know anything about metal to say....most metal that isn't just a dude strumming bass as fast as possible while another yells is written about fantasy/mythology/history/kicking ass...see the relation? Geez.

I got crisis core yesterday :P , the music and FMV summons are just absolutely badass. The combat is solid and the game is just fantastic if a bit confusing so far. Zack's voice work is just sad for a main character though.

To Draco:
Obviously you've never beaten FFX. Have you beaten Nemesis? or Earth Eater, or Thu'bin, or Iron Clad? Or any of other the thirty extra bosses in the game? Did you get all the celestial weapons for your characters?
I know you said you didn't do any of the side quests so I assume you didn't get the hidden Aeons then either?
Wow, you missed most of the game! My first time through I spent 76 hours and did all but the extra bosses. My next time was 167 hours to get all stats up to 255, all monsters captured, and all Original creations, Special creation, and Area creations beaten.
To liquid Ocelot: for each of the celestial weapons you get for one of the characters in FFX, it gives a different one of the Aeons the ability to do 99,999 damage with every hit.
