According to their website, much of Ubisoft's technical support staff has taken this weekend off in observation of Good Friday and Easter. That's all well and good -- but perhaps, when they aren't draining Cadbury eggs or enjoying fine roasted hams, just one of them could take the time to Google their latest release, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, and discover that a good portion of the console gaming world is ready to swear off all things Clancy.
Our tip box has exploded with complaints from owners of the PS3 version of the game -- apparently, a majority of those who try to play online either can't connect or have to suffer staggering amounts of lag. We'd expect a bandwidth epidemic such as this to be patched post-haste -- we guess Ubisoft didn't anticipate we'd actually want to play their game on the first weekend of Eastertide. What, did they think those terrorists would hunt themselves?

what do they mean "ps3 version"? my 360 version wont work online, its an absoloute abomynation of all things online.
My old 512 connection could handle vegas 1, my 1mb connection can handle two people web surfing and call of duty 4, but vegas 2 wont work at all, even with the game showing green dots.
Its that bad.

Two years of playing my 360 - no issues. Five hours of R6:V2 = blue checkered screen and RROD. ick.

definitely not just the ps3 version... my 360 version DICONNECTS my modem from the internet to the point where i have to turn the modem off and start over just to get back on line and its not my isp or modem... i threw in cod4 and it worked fine (360 version) then hot shots golf online worked fine too... went back to r6v2 and it diconnected me after trying to find a match for 2 minutes... i am returning this game today...

*chuckle* I remember in November of 2007 the quotes going around. "By 2nd quarter 2008 the PS3 will have SO MANY GAMES ANS BE BETTER THAN THE 360!!!!"
So since it hasn't happend yet you guys are claiming it's gonna take until NEXT YEAR this time? Screw that, kids. If I pay 400 dollars NOW I want a great game selection NOW. This isn't a stock that you invent in and gain money over time. It's a gaming console. By the time the PS3 selection is as good or equal to the 360 (which it never will be) the next-next-gen consoles will be released.
The only reason to get a PS3 (or any console for that matter) is exclusives. The exclusives from the Sony lineup have pretty much all been going multi-platform. I'm not about to buy a console with crappy online experiences and a lack of game selection for an exclusive such as MGS or FF.
I'll go back to petting my Elite that has given me zero problems and zero lag online.
Oh, and RSV2 is a great game. Two thumbs up.
