Oakey just hasn't been the same since that "Bunkka" disaster.....

I won't argue your opinion, but personally I really enjoyed Bunkka and much of his work that followed...especially A Lively Mind. Granted his style has shifted in that album to become less continuous trance and more catchy pop tues, likely because with the success of Ready Steady and Starry Eyed Surprise those songs are easier to plug into games and movies.
The only disaster Oakenfold ever produced in my opinion was A Voyage Into Trance.

If he's among the worst trance DJs in the world, why is he also the most popular?
I mean, really, one of the worst trance DJs in the world? Statistically speaking, that's simply impossible. Especially if you actually follow local music scenes. Did you wake up this morning and say in a mirror, "Today, I will say one of the dumbest things in the world?"

No, he is actually pretty mediocre these days, I've seen him twice and was underwhelmed both times. He's still at 12 on the djmag list, but I think he's still riding on a lot of his previous fame.
Plus, he's doing music for a Bourne game... how hot could he be right now?

If your into the trance scene at all, Oakenfold is known as a horrible dj, he is notorious for trainwrecking sets. He is the poster boy for why successful producers dont always make good dj's.

Indeed, Oakenfold sets are nothing that your local DJ's couldn't do.

"and featuring ... Cee-Lo Green"
Deal breaker.
Best thing Goodie Mob ever did was kick his sorry ass out of the group. I swear he actually consciencely competes against Andre 3000 and fails in every way.

Exactly!
Nowadays, it's all about Tiesto and Armin van Buuren.
And even THOSE guys haven't been appealing to me much, these days.
Think I'll stick with my Prog House. :P
