What possible reason would EA have to block the Les Paul on Rock Band for Wii when they've demonstrated an interest otherwise in numerous statements and with Rock Band on the 360?

Wait, Why is it Activision's fault, since they use the Wiimote to talk to the Wii? Rock Band is using their stupid dongle thing, so if they used the wiimote as well, there shouldn't be a problem.

I would buy Guitar Hero if my Rockband controller was supported.

How could you guys be pissed about a system that has nowhere near the
graphical or processing power of the PS3 or X360 not having these
features? I mean yeah the DLC could be done, but it's almost
impossible considering the Wii has very limited storage space and has
terrible online services when it comes to stuff like DLC. Blame
Nintendo, don't blame Harmonix/EA for not having magical powers.

As for using the wiimote, so you're saying you're going to need 4 wiimotes to play this game? Who's going to pay for those? The already pissed off customer? That's absurd.

What I am confused about is if Harmonix developed GH2, shouldn't they know how the GH2 guitar interfaces with GH2? And, In turn, make their Rock Band guitar work with both GH2 & 3, since both GH guitars (presumably) each uses a similar input system to interface with their respective games?

I second that motion.

What if you have a PS2 controller - is that compatible with Rock Band for PS2? I wanted to only the game & not have to buy the whole set.

This is ridiculous. How would gamers react if the standard controller only worked with certain games and not others? Whoever is responsible for this incompatibility problem needs to realize the games will both sell more if every controller works with every game using the guitar peripheral.

Does anyone know if the Rockband PS2 guitar works with Rockband on the Xbox 360? I know the PS2 guitar works on PS3, but has anyone tried this out on the Xbox 360? It looks as though they are both USB, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

When you go to pre-order Rock Band for wii on Amazon, I can't find specs on what actually comes with the game. It's 169.99 so I'm hoping to get everything. Does anybody know?

IMHO, I feel the WII version is being gimped by the creators. The first problem is basing it off the PS2 version, The WII has much more processing power that that. Secondly, you can get SD cards that are 16GB. I am sure that would be enough room for DLC. Let's face it, they are doing what a lot of companies are doing, they are making a quick and dirty port of the ps2 game to make some buxs, and if all goes well the next version will be less gimped, if not gimped at all.

I like the wii, I think innovation is superior to graphix any day of the week... lol.. like the difference between dvd, and blu-ray... it's there and you can see it, but how much does it really effect the over all expeince?

I understand that there are three basic problems.

1) Not everybody will have or want to buy four wiimotes.
2) Activision may have not wanted Harmonix to code support for their controllers.
3) The Wii has no hard drive.

There are also three basic solutions.

1) Support either the wired controllers that Harmonix sells or the wireless guitars from GH3. It wouldn't have been that difficult to code the extra support.

2) Don't code the support for GH3 directly. Instead, give an options screen for Wiimote/Classic Controller play. Make the defaults map to something that would make sense if using an actual classic controller. The user could then re-define the controls to use a GH3 controller.

3) Support storing DLC on SD cards, a USB drive, or even wirelessly from a computer on the same network. I'm not sure if apps on the Wii can access these directly, so it may not be a solution. If it would work, though, even a 2 GiB SD card would be more than enough for some extra songs.

I already have two controllers for GH3 on the Wii, so I was hoping I could buy just the game, drums, and mic and save a little money. Apparently not. I'd have to buy the entire bundle and an extra guitar now. What am I supposed to do with four guitars?

There is absolutely no reason they couldn't have supported the GH3 controllers through a custom control configuration, without worrying about licensing issues with Activision. It seems like this is just another way to get even more money out of the Wii user base. An Xbox 360 and a used Rockband set is looking mighty tempting right now.

wow. i mean, WOW. i'm new to these forums and such, but even i am blown away by your OBSESSIONS. reading these, it gives the impression all you folks DO is sit on your lazy butts at the computer (or other game system) all day and exercise your thumbs. (which, may i point out, is quite a silly phrase. i mean, who WANTS a muscley thumb?? can you say disproportionate?) ha. but all you guitarians, i'm a drummer. so there. this all goes over my head, 'cause my brother does the guitarness. i'm just researching for him, cause he doesn't bother....

there is one thing i'm wondering. is Fernando a mod, or perhaps just some person with an account who is respected and revered by others? ...

ok, loves ya.
