Because someone who is planning on making another MMORPG is going to say that, despite their work, there isn't room for more than WoW.

Ofc there is room for more! Wow is made to apeal to all ages, soon Age of Conan comes...made to apeal adult players.

I'd agree with him. I'm loving DDO: Stormreach right now.

I'd like to see some more quality MMO's to choose from.

Off Topic: Is anyone else having trouble not seeing posts, I think I just accidentally disqualified myself from SSBB contest because my post wouldn't appear and I can't see anyone else's comments on this page although it says there are supposed to be 4 here.

EVE for example is still going strong.

You don't need millions in subscribers in order to succeed

It's been said by others, but STOP TRYING TO COMPETE WITH WOW. Or rather, stop making that the benchmark. There are plenty of other games that are successful in the market, even with WoW there. They just aren't and won't be making the same numbers.

A lot of people dont like fantasy. That leaves a lot of room for sci-fi and realistic MMOs. A lot of people also dont like RPGs. WoW does not cater to most people's preferences, however it still covers a lot.

Im still dreaming of planetside 2, or at least a new good MMOFPS.

definetly, wow is great but a lot of the people ,if not most, arent completly happy with it.
I mean, that they are there just cuz its the best they could get,any good company that attempts a MMO in a similar quality and does a better focus on casual players,or one that has a superior PVP system would easily take some of WOWs costumers, lets not forget that wow is a middle point game.
Hardcore and casual at the same time, both sides are kinda weak.

Well WoW has it's flaws.

Very Casual MMO + Huge Fanbase + Anonimity = Obnoxious Community (arguably) far worse than XBL.

It's only a matter of time before the game will be killed by it's community.

Unfortunately, although I can see comments fine, asking us whether or not we can see comments is rather pointless, as you will not be able to see our responses.

Sure, there's room for another MMO, in addition to WoW.

It's called The Sims Online.

If you're not making it, then if your investors are giving you megabucks in capitalization, they will never get it back.

Whatever they're thinking about needs to be different enough (while still be good) to provide a fresh change, otherwise I don't see people leaving WoW for a game that resembles it. Leaving WoW for the sake of not playing anymore sure, but leaving for a similar game to start the grind from the bottom again? I'll believe it when I see.

I still don't get why MMO companies do the either or aspect of the genre. Games like Chrono trigger had technology and magic coinciding why the hell can't MMOs seem to do the same thing
