Wii Fit priced for $90 at GameStop, pre-order $10

Bah, anything less than free is unable to compete with my gym. Except when its cold, or futurama is on. Or I'm Hammered. So pretty much all the time.

A real scale with heart condition monitor is at 30$ in Walmart but at least you get fun games like stepping up and down and DDR for dummies.

69.99 would be the ideal price for this. It will bring people in. 90 bucks will scare them off. Casual players are cheap players. Some of the hardcore will buy it but not the main demographic you are targeting to. I'll wait for the price drop or sales.

I think I'd rather buy $100 worth of koosh balls, and get more enjoyment out of them, than invest in this craptacularistic idea. Whoever at Nintendo invented this is officially a dork to the most extreme degree.

I guarantee you in the next few years that 'guitar supported' number will be a hell of a lot higher than the 'Wii Fit board supported' number.

I've been burned on enough Nintendo made peripherals and add-ons in the past. (R.O.B., PowerPad, Zapper, SuperScope6, N64 memory upgrade). But it'll sell to the sheep masses though, I'm sure...you know, the ones who aren't already sick of Nintendo's $#!t.

Unless Nintendo pulls out a miracle marketing idea, I can't see Wii-Fit really selling as well (in the US at least) as they're maybe anticipating. And believe me, I'm a Nintendo fanboy, always have been, and I have faith in them. But, I'm just not feeling it.

Failure on Nintendo's part. It's a $10 or $20 game with a $70 plus dollar board? What if I need another one to play the "future releases" this thing is suppose to have?

If Nintendo was smart they would release it for $50, and have the Wii fit be $30, but wait until there were other games for it. It would only be $10 cheaper but people might feel that the other games make it worth buying.

Yeah ok hold up... this is a ripoff, yet you can walk in the same store and preorder GTAIV Special Edition (complete with -Duffle bag- and lock box!) for the exact same price. What the hell are you gonna do with a duffle bag and lock box? Then there's also Halo 3 Legendary with its pricetag that gets you a useless plastic helmet/dust collector.

But yeah, if you stop and think logically for a second instead of foaming at the mouth, you'd see that it's $49.99 for the game (normal), and $39.99 for the board... --$39.99-- for the board! The same price as a single Wii remote and cheaper than a wireless 360/PS3 controller! Hello?

And people will eat this stuff up because it'll generate the same buzz as the Wii did. Guaranteed. Mass appeal and not the same old, same old. And everybody likes to get in shape without the hassle of getting up, going outside and moving.

old news, well to me, i work at toysrus canada in toronto and it was already in our system for $89.99. it truly is expensive thats why i never told customer the price when they pre-order cause thats our "add-on" for mystery shoppers.

being an employee at gamestop, the reason for the pre-order being ten dollars has nothing to do with an increasing deposit, but anything other than a standard game is essentially custom made for each person who wants one.

also price has to do with it. halo 3 legendary edition was a 25 dollar pre-order and so was the rock band bundle...

Read the dev interview on Nintendo.com and see that the goal of the Wii Fit is to promote overall wellness and get people in tune with their bodies, something that has sadly been lost in the west. This device could also be used in many other apps...comes bundled with minigames as well. Plus, Family Ski will be released around the same time. I can't wait for a snowboarding game to hit the shelves. I'd pay $100 for Wii Fit!

Everyone that I know who owns a Wii will be buying this on day 1. So that adds up to 20 sales.

I think it is a good idea. Yes you can achieve the same result by just exercising, but the intent of this is to make the exercise more enjoyable and get people who don't exercise moving and to get others to add to their existing workouts. It is not to replace real world exercise.

Ok, for all that are complaining about this, don't buy it! If you didn't want it you wouldn't be complaining, but then again when prices of everything else goes up everyone complains a little bit, such as gas, yet because of the rise and fall of the gas prices it has caused people to adjust to the price increases, much as people will do with this. I think the Wii Fit is a brilliant idea, because the trouble with a lot of people who don't excercise is the fact that they have no motivation, if this is going to do what I think it is, then it will be much like having a personal trainer.

As for the comment about the "guitar supported" games, what about when guitar hero came out for the first time? There wasn't any game that supported the guitar, and to date the only games you can play using the guitar is the guitar hero series and rock band. When the Wii Fit comes out it might be the only thing that you can use the board with but that's because it's new, just wait until other games utilize this. Another thing, how can you guarantee something in the future? are you some kind of Miss Cleo-wanna-be or something? The future is uncertain so don't go making "guarantees" on something you know nothing about.

P.S. - $90 for Wii Fit is a lot more tolerable and worth while than $129 for Halo 3 Legendary, in my opinion anyway.

I preordered online and it was supposed to ship 5/21 but it didn't. I called and asked what the problem was and they don't know why mine didn't ship. And they won't ship it until they do an "investigation", which could end up taking until next Tue.

I find it funny that they know it didn't ship, and still won't ship it to me. They say they can't ship until they firgure out the problem is with my order (which was placed on 4/15). Unless they don't have anymore, in which case they should have told me. Gamestop online FTL.
