This is JUST NOW making it to Joystiq? This arrived in my mail box via Game Informer magazine last week. Way to stay on top of things Joystiq....

I don't get what's with you people. Rock Band to me is really only fun when you have a group; Guitar Hero is still the superior single-player experience. I just don't like the feel of the guitar portion of Rock Band, and the Tour mode is so infuriating. Why do I have to play the same songs twenty effing times to unlock more?

Now I'm not hating on Rock Band; get a bunch of people together and it's a fantastic experience. But when it's just me I'll take Guitar Hero any day.

"was the superior single-player experience"

I love GH. GH2 is my fav and GH1 is something that got me hooked in the beginning. But GH3 just isn't fun. Most of the songs on expert for both GH1 and GHII were hard as hell, but they were still fun.

GH3, its like they took the game and just put chords everywhere and more 3 finger chords as well. When it didn't even make sense.

Like for example, Number of the Beast. I was excited that it was in GH3. And I'm trying to play it on expert and it just doesn't make sense. The note chart is way to out of wack. Then RB gets NotB and even if its a cover and some proclaim a horrible cover (its not that bad) The note chart seems right for the opening of the song and the solo is even harder then in GH3.

My opinion here, but I agree 100%. GH is still the superior single player experience. As far as I'm concerned Rock Band is a bit of a yawner unless you have a gang of folks to play with.

As a friend of mine recently taught me, this comment here is an "imho"

Why are they still making Guitar Hero games? Didn't a game called Rock Band come out?

Back in the day I thought Encore: Rock's the 80's was a pretty decent game. Sure, songs were $2 a pop but that's how much they cost in Rock Band anyways so it was no biggie. But if Encore: Rocks the 80's came out today I would spit on it and say, "Why not just put these songs in Rock Band?"

I second the Piss on your Ex pack.

The only purely band driven Guitar Hero I would ever buy is Tool.

Otherwise stick with the old formula.
